Great day for a hike on the Appalachian Trail. Only question is, NOBO or SOBO? #AT #hike
I spent three summers teaching outdoor activities at a kids camp in Maryland. Love the photos, brings back memories.

I am a self proclaimed entrepreneur seeking to benefit the world by spreading the good news of Christ.I seek to help others advance their lives physically, mentally, and spiritually. I seek to bring peace to the world by teaching of the grace of God and and his son Jesus Christ.
Welcome Reese to Peepeth.
I don’t believe in the existence of your deity though I share wanting to advance lives and bring peace.

Why isn’t peepeth no longer in the Toshi search? I would swear it was. Is there a fee for that?
It used to be on iOS. It still is on Android.
Mobile dApp browsers are having fun with App Store reviewers on iOS.

250000?.. That's the Truffle downloads number, right?.. A few projects I've worked on download/install Truffle with every CI run. That's hardly a +1 developer every time. ;)
250K is Consensys estimation: https://media.consensys.net/the-state-of-the-ethereum-network-949332cb6895
CryptoZombies tutorials had reported 200K students growing at 30K a month. https://medium.com/loom-network/ethereum-will-be-the-backbone-of-the-new-internet-88718e08124f

🤔 Questions about the growth of $ETH and it’s use cases vs $BTC https://twitter.com/davecraige/status/1015884466516971521?s=21
Ethereum has an estimated developer community of 250,000. Until a blockchain can build a bigger developer community, then Ethereum will be the most used, assuming we can solve scaling and usability.

Ok, just paid money to write my first 15 transactions to the blockchain. (Not sure what value proposition that has for me though. Why not just keep using IPFS for free and save money)
Recording onchain/IPFS means other clients (you can make your own) can see your data rather than locked in a proprietary data store.
Just storing in IPFS would mean no timestamp.

The current gas market is a dApp killer.
@bevan will hopefully/eventually open the flood gates to free peeping for all (who maintain good standing)

Ok cool
I prefer a peepeth first approach.
If we want unstoppable microblogging using Ethereum then we have to use it.

That makes perfect sense but am still curious how this approach adds to security if the app is just a wrapper. Perhaps it's not just a wrapper and something more?
Native app. Which means that the opportunity to phish is reduced to when users download the app.
We need to ween users off entering keys and seed phrases.

@abcoathup has anyone set up a Twitter <—> PeepETH bridge yet? New tweets automatically get peeped.

Any thoughts on why dApps haven't gone mainstream yet?
Usability and scaling.
Setup a friend with Trust and give them $5 worth of ETH and help them setup Peepeth but you still have to explain gas market.
Peepeth has potential to lead the way.

was reading about computational inequality (i.e. people in developing countries have smartphones/comps but can't run many mainstream applications). something like peepeth is pretty lightweight right? maybe we should look to places w/o a strong existing social media infrastructure
Imagine a light native client with free peeping and free registration. It could just be text only or small sized images via a setting.

Is it truly safer? After all, is it not just a wrapper for the website?
Yes. So many phishing attempts against MyCrypto and MEW. If users know they don’t enter keys into a MyCrypto website, that is a good thing.

I'm going to go out on a limb then and assume you never took typing or at least, not on a manual typewriter. It's a typewriter eraser/brush. Back in ye old days, the eraser removed your mistakes and the brush swept away the eraser bits you left behind.
I learnt to type on an electric typewriter. I also used a manual typewriter. Though I never saw that.

(2/2) I look forward to a future in which miles from one airline are tokens that can be exchanged, with no middleman, for air mile tokens from any other airline. Or where tokenized Tesla shares can be exchanged for tokenized Starbucks credit. I like to think we'll get there.
There isn’t an advantage to airlines.
Points would flow from those least likely to use them to those most likely to use them.
A disruptive player could make it more efficient but airlines would reduce points given and increase cost of redeeming.

I see what happened. Looks like tags are showing dupes, hence my manual count was off.
