#Ropsten has forked (#geth/#parity split) on block 3377452. #Etherscan currently displays the Parity side. https://github.com/ethereum/go-ethereum/issues/16884
Pesky. Looks like Rinkeby for public testing then.

Welcome Shea.
Does that mean you are stuck with the stache forever, as you built your brand around it?

Also, Microsoft is one of the biggest contributors to GitHub so the purchase makes sense.
Developers, developers, developers.
If they screw it up there are alternate front ends to Git.

😄 you could write a competing Peepeth client with free posts as default! Now that would be interesting.
I want a photo focused native app client for Peepeth. Just need more free time.
On the flood gates, I am sure it will happen eventually.

So glad the gas market is starting to cool off a bit.
Gas market prices means dApps need to find ways to scale now if they want to survive otherwise they have to wait for Ethereum to scale.

What I love about this approach is that the worst case scenario is the provider refuses to publish your content to the blockchain, in which case you just publish your content directly.
I want the flood gates opened.
Release the flood!!
I didn’t realise you had done a front end batch save of signed messages on Leeroy.
The beauty is the front end can stop bad actors from peeping for free or even batching. They can still peep direct to the smart contract.

It is a desktop dapp. What about my communication and marketing confused you?
Nothing, when I hear about a dApp the first thing I try is does it work on mobile.

So this .06 cent tx to the contract to me looks like your batch w/ ipfs location was saved to the contract on its own.I was under the impression that user batches were signed, but not added to the contract, then pooled together where the ipfs location would be saved? @abcoathup
I’ll have to sit down and write it up. See what time I finish today.

What do you think about the $BAT/Brave solution? Would this be viable? I thought, if the earnings are more than what is needed to pay for hosting, batching, developing... the leftover could be redistributed to top content creators here on Peepeth.
I haven’t looked at Brave in detail. I thought individual users received BAT for consuming publisher content.
Replying to @jvck (0x49f7729c66b66cbf0a2e174ff4487be22027177c)
Wouldn't the cost of batching increase linearly with the number of peeple? If I remember/understand GAS fees correctly they depend also on the amount of information/bytes you want to store. The more peeple, the more hashes need to be saved, so more bytes increase the GAS fees.
No, the beauty of the solution is that the front end saves batches of everyone’s peeps rather than a single peeper. The peeper has to sign so it can be proven that the peep was from them. Saving every hour is the same blockchain transaction fee for 100 vs 1 million.

Have you tried Balance? www.balance.io Would love your Peep-based feedback.
When you first released I could play around on mobile in a dApp browser. It doesn’t appear I can do that any more.
I see you are doing a native app now.

Is there an API for Peeps?
Not a public one as far as I know.
The backend is open.
I have peeped directly to IPFS and the smart contract and parsed out peeps.
The ABI and contract address is here:

do we have a place of things to do listed.. am sure we have multiple hands here who can get dirty on code and help @bevan
The backend is open. You could create things like stats by parsing the JSON in IPFS from transaction inputs.

I just wrote some words about the new "Sign & Save" feature. Nothing special, just an easy explanation for people that wonder how it works. https://busy.org/@mcjvck/peepeth-peep-for-free
The cost for the front end to batch is essentially fixed regardless of number of peepers and is relatively small.
For a subscription, you would likely need a free period of 12 months. Though this could be a blocker for use so need to rely on tips and verification monetisation.
