I was thinking more obscure. Selling hemp seeds for human consumption is illegal in Australia but you can buy in the UK.
Now it’s legal in Australia. I can have hemp seeds on my pasta.

I can't think of many locations where selling heroin is totally legal (and selling it worldwide at that too). Certainly not in countries where blockchain is relevant. I'm pretty sure it isn't legal for me (UK) to buy an unregistered magnum from someone in the USA.

That's why I love Metamask. One private seed gives 10 wallet addresses -- use one for social and keep it funded with coffee money!
If you have anything of value then store in a hardware wallet.

I actually wanted to suggest to @bevan that the ETH address hyperlink out to etherscan.io directly, but figured it might be a little too stalkerish. What do you think?
A link to Etherscan would make it easier. Save having to copy and paste.

Help. I have so many metamask wallets floating around, all containing different dapp stuff. How do you guys manage your wallets?
It’s a challenge. I am in the process of amalgamating addresses. In the end I need one for dev, one for identity/mobile and a hardware wallet.

I just realised you can’t DM people on peepeth.
I believe that DM is on the todo list.
For now you could use #Toshi messaging or Twitter DM.

After I verified my account, he adviced me to tell the peepeth team about cooperation: "You should probably reach out to the team as they could partner with us for the verification process and then provide their own shield - like Twitter but one that works." Here: t.me/metacert
I believe additional verification options e.g. URL are in the todo list.

1/ Just an idea until we have better wallets or identity management services: Could dapps like Peepeth allow you to authorize "secondary accounts," allowing you to use your same profile, but not necessarily be logged in from the same wallet address?
As our identities have value we will want some mechanism to protect them and recover them. e.g. social recovery.

So, I occasionally browse the apps section of Cipher just to see if anything new or cool has been added....And I can't help but wonder if someone could make a marketplace? For physical products, not just digital. An alternative to OpenBazaar, which allows heroin & guns openly!!
Moderation is more complex than simple unrestricted trading. It is a balance for all decentralised communities.
Something might be legal in one location but not in another.

I just realised that batching 15 peeps cost me $0.01. This means $5 gives a user 500 batches worth of peeps. That's 7,500 peeps. I've been on twitter since '08 and I only have 2,400 tweets. Looks like $5 will go a long way!
When I started, signing wasn’t working on mobile dApp browsers, so I was paying per peep.

That gives me more incentive to try out Toshi as well. We live in good times for social dApps. Who knows, we might be able to use the our same identity on Peepeth for any future social dApp?
I think indentities are just getting started.

Trust is great. I'm using it for testing my stuff on the testnet. Too bad toshi doesn't have the option.
#Toshi has a dev testnet version of the app that you can use on testnets.
https://developers.toshi.org/docs/getting-started
Whilst #Cipher and #Trust you can change to testnets within the app.

I'm wondering whether Toshi will eventually replace Cipher, since both developers are now merging features into Toshi.
Pete is joining Toshi. Cipher was given a grant to go open source so don’t know how that all plays out.
Toshi should eventually have everything that Cipher has with Trust pushing forward too. (Don’t forget Status)

Since we have many developers around, maybe somebody can share some insight: Why is ENS so rarely implemented? It works through MetaMask and @mycrypto, but a lot of wallet apps and dapps don't use it. Not to mention the reverse lookup. How come?
It’s been suggested for peepeth to display reverse lookups. It could be another part of reputation.
The mobile dApp browsers still appear to be working on fundamentals so assume haven’t got to ENS yet.
@sid, @pete, @vikmeup thoughts on this?

I'm tempted to verify my Twitter identity too. Just wondering whether I should. On Mastodon, we used to avoid giving extra publicity to Twitter since the community believes in decentralization.
Part of the peepeth user base is crypto twitter. Ideally the best parts of crypto twitter could be here.
Verifying lets your twitter community know where you are and gives a small amount to @bevan for verifiying.

What do you guys use to browse Peepeth on iOS? Cipher?
I have #Toshi (messaging) #Cipher (landscape) and #Trust (finds any tokens and transaction notifications).
Your seed phrase is your username, password, identity all in one. Triple check multiple sources before entering into an app.
Use a hardware wallet for lrg funds/tokens.

#IPFS doesn't really need rent, since it doesn't provide a retention guarantee in the first place. Nodes keep what has been previously accessed, and remove what's deemed unnecessary.
So to ensure peeps exist from the past, then a peepeth client would need to run an IPFS node. So there is cost for someone to store the peeps and hence potential for rent?

Thanks for pointing that out. How long was the TX confirmed for, but the site still asking for a batch-save?
About 40 minutes. Tried restarting the dApp browser (Cipher).
@bevan #bug
I submitted a batch with a safe low gas fee. The network was under load so my transaction was pending. I resent the tx with a higher gas fee and it was confirmed but front end thought I still needed to batch save. Only cleared by new tx resubmitting batch again.
When you try a new dApp and you see token icons for @DeezNutsToken and for Flippers (PEEP) you know that @vikmeup was involved somehow.

So if you want to delete something from the record, you just stop paying your IPFS rent?
Depends how IPFS implements rent. Also if someone runs an IPFS node with all the peeps. (A client like peepeth could do that).
There is still the possibility that IPFS will have to implement a mechanism to force a delete for GDPR or some other government regulation.

I imagine saving actual pictures and perhaps even video would get a bit pricey.

Your private key controls your funds and identity. Be cautious providing you 12 word seed phrase into any app. Triple check via multiple sources.
Export your seed phrase from MetaMask, import into Toshi/Cipher/Trust. Unless you have an existing address with funds.
