Does a anyone know where I can study Peepeth source code? Eager to learn more about it if available.

https://peepeth.com/front_page gives you enough to build a front end, at the very least a reader.

Great job.

Hopefully Trust keeps up with the competition. I'd hate to see Coinbase have a monopoly in yet another area of cryptocurrency.

The ecosystem needs multiple clients to drive innovation.

I'm sure IPFS isn't imposing the 280 char limit, but right now the front end is truncating past 280 characters. Continuing to impose these arbitrary limits now that we are in a post SMS base era just seems counterproductive.

Brevity is a feature of microblogging. Though I could see the ability to have below the fold over 280 or some form of soft limit or even being able to purchase longer peeps.

Cipher devs got hired by Coinbase to work on Toshi, so there's practically one less DApp browser out there.

Great for @pete great for #Toshi.

Status will go mainnet eventually and then there will be two well resourced teams.

With @vikmeup at #Trust keeping them on their toes.

Per @James on Leeroy a month ago: Stats: 1850 users, 1638 tips worth $377.68, $291.63 of gas, 874 profiles updates, 1645 posts, 410 reposts, 990 replies, 2166 follows.

Less posts than users?

I’m over 900 peeps now.

I think Peepeth came along at the right time. Low gas currently, multiple mobile dApp browsers offering good experience. Neither was true a few months ago.

I don't think Leeroy was ever approached... but it would be interesting to see what kind of company would bid for Peepeth. The backend work is basically a public service, with almost no dev funding built in. The front end business will tend towards being extremely competitive.

If a mobile dApp browser implemented peepeth natively then that could increase user engagement in that app.

Depends how quickly Peepeth grows.

It went live yesterday. I don't want to brag... and have no idea if it's true... but I think I received the very first enso given. It was given by @pluma. I did find it odd @Bevan didn't throw up an announcement for everyone. I think he is under extreme load. Always here to help

I haven’t looked into how Ensō works under the covers. If it’s onchain then we can find out who was first.

I assume you did receive the first.

I agree. Let the market decide what is too small! On Leeroy I would often get/give penny tips that cost two cents to give! Three cents is still less than 10 cents, after all. Weren't you just advocating affordability! Just being tough on you. ;-)

Need to warn users when tips are lower than gas.

Purchasing last night when the gas price was set incorrectly, the transaction fee was half the purchase price.

Income also comes from Verifications. There should be a "stuff" store, but I doubt @Bevan has the spare time to manage it. Premium frontend-features and supporter badges should also be options, again - Bevan is working hard to get the basics bug free.

A merch store at some point for all the peeper believers.

Verifications, badges and tip percentage is the current monetisation. Will have to see if that is enough. @bevan needs to eat.

If we want nice toys we need to feed the makers.

I also feel that tips fill this role, although we need microtipping.

$1 is currently the minimum.
Anything less than ten cents is probably too small due to gas cost.

And then... you end up with an echo chamber. I suppose an "explore" section is important - and maybe it can just randomly pull accounts that meet certain criteria and show their recent peeps...

Definitely want a way to view non-spam accounts that are diverse from me.

This is amazing to see for a couple reasons. Firstly, 1000 peeps will only run you AUD 12 cents. Secondly, direct tipping is a super simple, but powerful way of incentivizing continuous content creation from the tip receiver. Incredible times.

1000 peeps with no other actions at 1 cent a batch of 15 would cost 66 cents.

I think it would lead to a million spam bots giving ensō to spam - of course, that's another argument for mandating it be pushed to the chain immediately. On the other hand, everyone in the world should be able to give ensō... is a cent or two too much?

A cent or two removes it out of the hands who don’t have that amount of money.

I was looking into both the firefly and the ledger earlier but I don’t have access to a 3D printer and I find that the ledger is very expensive... Do you recommend any other diy or cheaper hardware wallets you have come across? Thanks!

Ledger is one of the cheapest.

If you are just looking at cold storage, then a paper wallet perhaps? (I haven’t set one up).
