Watching "Ernest Saves Christmas" with my adopted son Aiden while the wife makes us some cookies. Ahh.. Holidays.
I love family traditions. The smell of Christmas. Enjoy the cookies.
I find it strange now for Christmas not to be cold. Even though I was born in Australia. Mulled wine, chestnuts, open fire.
We will be at the beach instead.

Synchronistic Fireflies find consensus without a leader and coordinate out of self-interest, not collective. Is there a better biological analogy to blockchain? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photinus_carolinus

Any ETA (obv no rush) on the login issue? I'd like to use the app hehe.
Unfortunately no idea. (I am not the developer).
I would love to go back to using it.

Free the peeps.
Peeps are on @bevan. Thanks Bevan.

I'm against keeping steak at all costs. It doesn't resonate well with that mindful engagement clause as I've seen people posting anything for the sake of posting (and in the past I might've been guilty of the same). 🐧
Fake it until you make it.
Peeping for streaks sake may reduce quality but it is habit forming.
I would rather see an emoji of everyone’s mood than nothing at all.

The Trust browser has an integrated wallet. There is also an unofficial Peepeth app but I don’t think it’s been released on the App Store yet.
The unofficial iOS app is available through TestFlight. It isn’t on the App Store.
For now I am mainly using Trust.
There isn’t a MetaMask mobile app (yet, it will be here in 2019).
Mobile is the best place to peep.

The community here is, by and large, focused on positivity. We're committed to building a positive social platform on top of a censorship resistant public blockchain. The order there matters, esp. for Bevan. We won't all agree about everything, but we're all in this together.
We are all in this together.

I would love to see transparency on moderation. Being able to see what has been moderated.

#streakonstreaks #13 Day 13: a streak of unluck conspiring to break me. From blinding windshield wiper streaks, to streaks of distracting business phone calls. Thankfully, I have activated the habit-enhancing powers of modern technology.
I still haven’t planned for how I keep my streak over Christmas.
@stuart may finally get his wish.

And on selling data, if users could individually permission their data to be sold (and for them to get the proceeds) and were happy to do so, that presumably would be cool with Peepeth?
It’s the users data.
It is in IPFS and anchored onchain. A user doesn’t need permission to use their own data.
Again I am a user of peepeth. 🐧

So I too would much prefer abstraction. And there are plenty of solutions for this I guess (but none that I've seen in practise?!). But do you not worry that by making Peepeth appear free to users at this point, you'll be storing up trouble for the future?
@bevan is the developer of peepeth. I am a passionate user. 😀
A platform that isn’t monetised is storing up future problems.
Peepeth monetises through a share of tips, paid verifications and paid badges (currently the crowd funding). There may need to be more added.

Hi Andrew! I've been interacting with Peepeth (which I love btw) via the Streamr account. But thought it best to get my own account!
I think it’s good to have separate accounts so that you have more freedom for what you both can peep.
Welcome to Peepeth.

How is your day?

I wrote this about Network gas costs and what dApps should do about them https://medium.com/streamrblog/ending-network-gas-costs-bad-for-web3-decentralization-7ef9ce036f09
Welcome Shiv.
Outside of financial transactions I prefer blockchain transaction fees abstracted for end users.
Educating users that blockchain transaction fees go to miners and not dApps is hard.
Related: dApps need to monetise. Though not by selling ads or user data.

Ah, I prefer to keep that private for the time being ;)
Perfectly understandable.
I don’t peep photos of my family or my house.
Peeps are public and accessible by anyone, future employers, advertisers, government agencies and your mum.

Where abouts in the world are you peeping from?
I am in rainy Melbourne.
I am sorry that you missed an opportunity here to positively inform and educate, especially about Palestine.
Maps showing the change in area of Palestine and Israel I find very powerful.
From what I understand Minds has far less moderation.

@bevan Howdy! I'm new to Peepeth, big fan of the idea. But immediately upon joining the first thing I see is the user Ziad in the New section. He is spamming a lot about Palestine and Jewish conspiracies. Kind of an uncomfortable introduction. Curious your policies on this
Peepeth has a code https://peepeth.com/a/terms that peepsters are asked to comply with.
Posts that don’t comply can be flagged by other peepsters.
Offending peeps can be removed from the peepeth front end.
Moderation tools and transparency should improve over time.
