From my understanding it is town square and state actor combination that is being claimed as what should prevent social media from banning people? That feels like a stretch but it would mean that US users couldn’t be banned unless they were doing something illegal in the town sq?

That's exactly what I did, though. His responses were reductive and dismissive, leaving no room to see what he had to say as discourse in good faith. As such, to avoid argument, I chose to mute him.
If you can articulate with evidence the relevant US law or link to someone who does this that would be great.
We want to learn and grow in a positive space.

I prefer Peepstream as PeepLiveStream feels too long.
Though you can use peepshow and see if other peepers use it.

There's something beautiful here on Peepeth. It reminds me of IRC back in the 90's; that feeling of being in a room with people and just taking part in conversations. If the platform grows, that might change. But I'll certainly appreciate what we have now, while we have it.

Oh wow, this even works well on mobile! I likely won't use mobile a lot (I have a mobile phone, but no service) but when I'm laying in bed I suspect I'll find this quite convenient.

You can build your own social media with its own rules within the laws of the jurisdictions.
Peepeth is a stateless smart contract recording IPFS hashes as transaction inputs of JSON messages stored on IPFS.
The contract can’t be censored. Only front ends displaying data can.

I don't like the idea of muting someone so early into my time here. But I also have little interest in watching someone disregard the complexity of Constitutional law and common law, out of some misguided superiority complex.
It would be great if you could explain the complexity and point to the relevant US laws. The great thing about discourse is the learning that comes from it.

Yes, perhaps I am too old to understand a platform that purports to promote open dialogue & discourse while providing a parachute in the form of the "mute" function so as to allow people to avoid comments they find to be uncomfortable...
Backend is potentially forever. Frontends can provide what ever user controls they like.

I just wrote an article on Medium analyzing some "Crypto twitter" user statistics (as I am a data nerd). Check it out. https://medium.com/@abeecrombie/crypto-twitter-statistical-analysis-53748f733a0e. Does peepeth have an easy to use API where I can pull similar user data?
Backend API is Ethereum and IPFS.
You can find all the events on the smart contract and then parse the JSON in IPFS.
Would be great to see more analysis of Peepeth.
