Cool! In Oakland there are 50 elephant statues representing the local baseball team. Wonder if they were inspired by the Berlin bears; they have a similar style. https://sf.curbed.com/2018/5/11/17345948/statues-oakland-athletics-elephants-baseball

It's possible I guess, there is a similarity. Some well-designed ones in there as well.

Liverpool went one step further and created their own genetic mutation, the Superlambanana... 😉

Interesting question and cool graphic. Last year I learned that bears are a symbol of Berlin- they’re all over the city.

Yes, it dates back to around the 13th century. They first appeared on a city seal in 1280 then later on a couple of different coats of arms.
There's also the "Buddy Bears". More recent, 140 of them. Each different & representing a country acknowledged by the United Nations.

Haha, nice. They sometimes have a taco truck parked outside mine which is my go-to.

Tacos would probably work with me as well, burrittos are a current favourite.
No harm in giving yourself a post-workout treat! 😉

Haha! At least there’s no donut advertisement yet or I might just pull over. There’s also a big lottery billboard, which is actually fun to see. “What would I do with $200M?”

Ahh... so donuts are the missing component...
**calls advertising company**

At my last gym, I used to finish the workout then walk straight across the road to a cafe and eat a full greasy fried breakfast. Calorie replacement, no remorse... 😋

Roadside advertisements on the way to the gym: weed, alcohol, banking, fast food.

Isn't that called putting temptation in your path? 😉

Not sure about the community, but the Foundation distanced itself from the whole case. https://www.trustnodes.com/2019/11/30/ethereum-foundation-throws-virgil-griffith-under-the-bus

The EF is based in Switzerland if I am correct. Murikkka has no jurisdiction there. Apart from Vitalik, it's time they collectively grew a pair and start protecting one of their own.

I had a lot of fun last night researching blockchain-based alternatives to YouTube and the like. I'll be making and uploading some videos to document the process to help friends who might be interested in switching. Got D.Tube and BitTubers.com so far. Any advice/suggestions? :)

https://dlive.tv - seems more for live streams but has quite a few users. They use their own token model as well. For short video sharing / social media apps, there's PiePie and Bermi amongst others.

Are you a tea drinker? What kind do you like? I've been enjoying rooibos recently (technically speaking an herbal tea). Nice caffeine-free alternative with many purported health benefits.

Siberian ginseng bark mixed with green tea ("gunpowder") and a slice of ginger. Also nettle tea is a lot nicer than it sounds.

Having a plan written out is really helpful. How much time do you spend planning / prioritizing, relative to the actual work?

In general, very little. I tend to do tasks that need concentration during the day. Smaller / more repetitive tasks work better for me at night. But flexible, all depends on what else needs to be done around these.

The late night wasn't worth it. Messed up my sleep schedule. Still, was fun to code late into the night and reminded me of college.

The trick is in staying focused and not allowing yourself to get tired. I can do all night now on one cup of coffee. But plan your tasks - no point trying to code if your brain is too tired. Eyestrain / dry eyes from screens is what normally gets me 🤓
