@bevan is making those tough decisions in realtime... every dev has to eat! Personally, I'd be fine with a niche platform filled with personable peeple and well-considered peeps, but there needs to be enough revenue to sustain the efforts involved. (Long live Peepeth!)
I agree. V. Buterin has made a proposal recently for wallets developers, but nothing about dApps developers. I guess some form of advertising/donating would help fund their efforts. But HOW do you split it all FAIRLY in an open-source community where EVERYONE is a contributor?
I can easily see this becoming a Web3 standard in the future...

One thing that's always intrigued me about extremists from both sides of the spectrum and all those other deluded souls. How will you know when all those imaginary problems are solved?
I think that extremists are often past caring about the problems or solutions. They just want to be heard/visible. :)

Can Peepeth become a "mainstream" product if that's the case? That was something that kept coming up at #buidl_bali...
I think the real question is: Do you REALLY want Peepeth to become "mainstream"? If so, then the infrastructure, rules, design and "marketing strategies" will need to be rethought. As we all know, this is no easy feat on an existing/live product/software/platform. :)

I am giving this #Peepeth thing a go. I'm intrigued because I believe that due to the immutability of the blockchain, users will be forced to think twice before they post. Very interested to see how that affects the culture in a social network.
It seems to me that people who join Peepeth are not the kind to just think/post mindless stuff anyway. Or rather, there are the likes of Instagram, Facebook and Youtube for that...

This sort of development is nice to see. When I was growing up in France, supermarkets used to pour bleach on the "expired" food in their bins. Then, the government stepped in and destroyed their disgusting practices. :)
