So with this new free peep model...how did this happen? My understanding is that saving things/verifying transactions on the blockchain will always require users to pay gas. How did we just overcome this obstacle? And do you think other dapps will start to do the same?

Yeah curious myself, has anyone ever noticed any direct correlation between when the network is jammed and overall price of eth? Or is it unrelated and there's just a higher demand for mining when there's all these transactions, hence higher gas prices

In a dilemma, want to keep peepin, but approaching 15 unsaved actions and it looks like avg gas price to get through network is over 8 gwei! I mean its not a lot of money, but I'm baller on a budget here :)

So frustrating and a huge barrier to peeping. We need to change from direct peeper paying gas and abstract. I’ve made a suggestion to @bevan on how this could be done and need to write up on medium.
Seems like a barrier for dapps in general, but all part of growing pains of new technology

Ethereum really does feel like the early ages of the internet...sites with pixelated patchy UI, network randomly slows to a crawl, the majority of people have no idea what this is or how it works...I've never been more excited!

Onboarding, then engagement are two hurdles. The simplest answer is to invite your friends and just keep peeping. 100k peeps and 10k peepers is the next step.

Great question! Working on a number of those fronts now. On-ramping people to ETH ownership is a big obstacle. This will become easier though, and working on ways to reduce ETH friction on Peepeth now. Product also has a long way to go; must get users more engaged and sharing.
@bevan awesome to get your input since this is your baby! haha I love it. Yeah a lot I think is going to have to do with further experience and education with dapps and crypto. Def a long and exciting journey ahead!

Peepeth is no doubt growing at a pretty nice rate, but what do people think is going pivot this into more main stream adoption? (Bigger media press, growing use of dapps, bigger security/data issues with centralized social, just a matter of time etc)?

Wow...I think Gilfoyle in the newest Silicon Valley episode said it best when it came to crypto...that maybe the reason Buffett and other investors talk so badly about crypto is because they have $90 billion in paper assets to protect
