Just updated my homepage at http://jamesv.dk/
... It's funny how much enjoyment I get out of making it as barebones as possible... no JS at all, minimal CSS, only 3 pages total.
Also, added a little link to my Peepeth :)

@pluma lives in a great redwood tree with cozy rooms carved out inside. She holds council with the birds after their daybreak reverie. When outsiders enter the wood, she throws hush over the kingdom.
This explains it all.

We don't shitpost, we rosepost. Our shit don't stink.
#roseposting or #roséposting?
One’s a lot more likely on Twitter than the other, I can tell you that... but who knows with Peepeth...
Just watched #LayerCake (Daniel Craig, before Bond). Fast-paced, full of twists, and funny in both senses of the word. Recommend it!
Finished #WildWildCountry last night - great series. Duplass brothers have a new fan.

Finally hit 2 financial goals I've been seeking for a while: enough stock savings to justify a brokerage fee, and enough normal savings to provide a buffer for monthly budgeting (I get paid weekly). I use @YNAB as my software of choice so I'm excited to set up some new plans.
The dream is to automate every single expense/investment as much as possible... then stuff gets interesting, when you have some spare capital lying around to sink into a startup idea or *good* ICO.

It's funny. When I was in Taiwan a couple years ago, I bought some American Spirit rolling tobacco because I thought I might want to smoke, but I never did. That tobacco was produced in Japan. I took it back to the US, left it in Florida, and now I'm in Japan with no tobacco!
Haha, funny how life works like that... I brought a huge can of FAXE beer back from Denmark, fully intending to enjoy it at some special point, and instead I decided to quit drinking & gave it away. (A good occasion though - my Viking-loving cousin's 18th)

Then when that craving becomes a burden, too predictable, when it loses its luster, when it becomes a bland habit, then I 'quit', usually for years, which is another hack. So we have control of our bodies and actions. We can think for ourselves. We don't need Big Brother.
I like it.

Tobacco is a very powerful plant. I smoke it on and off, mostly off. But during certain periods in my life, I choose to smoke tobacco. I haven't smoked in, hmm, at least 4 years, but I very well may again. Tobacco is NOT addictive for me. I choose to smoke or not.
Addiction is an curious one... specifically for smoking, I can’t say I’ve ever enjoyed it, but I do get the appeal. No-inhale cigars are interesting & apparently less addictive, and “addiction treatment” like nicotine patches are actually getting a little following as a biohack..

Delightful #winter morning bike ride. My entire section below the torso was screaming from the Reggaeton class last night (South Americans, how do they do it???) but the beautiful day made it bearable.

Thank you. I agree the badges may not be necessary. I'm reluctant to add features, but also want to experiment while it's feasible.
Oh yeah of course! It's your baby, and we're part of your eventual '1000 true fans.'
Keep it up @bevan!

Thanks. There is definitely something to be said for posting consistently, getting in a habit - I feel like more people will be likely to share. What about something entirely decoupled from someone’s activity? Badges assigned to birthdays, or being the closest UserID to- 1/

Or no badges at all? You’ve already done a great job with Peepeth- I reckon it just takes more of us spreading the word by mouth, manually onboarding, etc. & it’ll spread. 2/

Good points. How to encourage regular, but not excessive, engagement? Incentives that require only one action per day seem like worthwhile experiments, but it's an open question.

I forgot that I shipped a book to myself from @bookdepository & chose a fake name. When my grandad got home he told me I was going to be sharing my room with a new boarder, a “Mr. Bollocks”. I was genuinely surprised until I saw the tag.

Do we want to be encouraging as many Peeps & Ensos (Ensii?) as possible? If there is an incentive (cosmetic, status, or otherwise) that will make people want to post more & like/Enso more.
You can argue that ^quantity will ^quality (also ^user adoption), but is it necessary?

Misty roads after #gdbc2018.
Man, I’ve had a lucky day...
I biked to the office to say hi to my workmates - and only after arriving, the chain broke. Clean off! I could have had that happen on the open road! And- I got there just in time for a friend to offer me a ride. #Grateful
