@peepethApp is still the most polished #dapp out there — and there is zero incentive for me asking you to sign up, besides my own smug smile that I was here before it was cool.

Great, thanks @andrewxhill. I love the concept and function of Textile, and I think the mission is great, so I look forward to seeing it grow.

sounds absolutely heavenly. will definitely have to make a stopover there one day, if not for the history and food alone (and the history <i>of</i> the food!). you've found yourself in the middle of something pretty special, james. thanks so much for sharing it with us!
Aw thanks @pluma, happy you enjoy it!

Social proof is underrated. I was reflecting a little last month on how many of my decisions were not my own, but rather because I had friends + role models who made the same choices. It's a hardwired human shortcut to want to be with and like people like us, and people we like.
Makes you wonder - in 50 years, will social proof become more, or less popular?
Will we end up with an ever more populated world, but one that is split into clusters of tight knit groups?
I could see this being a positive thing in many ways... it's kinda how nature made us.
Replying to @tpt (0x618242eb5b2e41ad715a6e1c01aa6d28dea2a911)
That's definitely true. It's super cheap to learn things. You're right that what people are paying for is social proof. Which is the silliest reason you could think of to spend that much money. It's like teaching a kid to buy a lambo right out of school.

Seriously — not just one of the most polished working dapps, but creating the solution to a very specific problem crypto is perfect for.
And in the process creating a fairer, more ethical industry.
Good you didn’t listen.
There’s nothing from with curation in a decentralised platform. As long as users own their data and can choose alternative sources, they have an order of magnitude more control than centralised alternatives e.g. IG.

I got mistaken for @JamesBayMusic at the airport a couple days ago.
Introduced myself as “James” and they did a double take and said “James Bay?!”
I’ll take this as my best compliment of 2018.

that reminds me that i need to get back on that train. but i don't think i can while looking at the ice cream stand in the background! their flavors look divine. 😍 did you try any?
Yep, the cornel cherry (a Georgian fruit) with cinnamon cone: was delicious.
Georgians have amazing food. I’m near disbelief a country exists with so much delicious wine, cheese, fruit, spiced foods, pastries — they even have their own citrus-infused type of coffee.

That would be the two most compelling things for me.

Worthy goal. How does the mechanism of DLT support/inform that goal? Is that mechanism working to support the space or is it superfluous to it?
I’m not sure it needs then qualifier of DLT - it’s still blockchain technology. But the blockchain is essentially used to verify that the content posted here, was posted at this certain time and is being reproduced the correct way. AKA, anyone in the world can verify peeps here.

G'day @PeeZapp! I second @abcoathup - additionally: *Post gifs & change your background to a GIF *Trawl people's profiles and tell them what you like about them *Use <b\>bold</b> and <i\>italic</i> lettering *Use the peep-to-twitter function
Bold is done with the <`b`> html tag, and italic with the <`i`> (remove the `s)
example and a double example

It's still very early stage program. I expect to things change a lot over years. However, a baby-steps approach here is best imho. Start small, get feedback, iterate.
Early stage maybe, but usable enough to work on all devices, which is pretty special. Especially for an org with none of the history/funding of Google, MS, and to a lesser extent Mozilla.
Pretty decent giveaway - $25 of $XLM from @blockchain. The best way to get people into crypto is to give them free crypto, in my experience - and blockchain.com (formerly blockchain.info) are a company I really admire in this industry.
Some days I wish I was born in the 60s.
Others, the 70s/80s.
Or the early 90s - imagine being early to the 'net.
But then I realise…I'm at the perfect point of time for the blockchain+dapp revolution. That in my lifetime I'll see a radical change of how we work & transact value.

Dayum.
Fun fact: The Danish word for strong is stærkt - a very unique sound. Can be yelled at the top of your voice, "STAREEE-KT!", right from the back of your throat, when you observe an act of massive strength.
