I'm not sure I generally like the word "patent" alongside the word "blockchain," but I can see how this is good news if I wander outside of the utopia I have in my mind... Gonna be interesting to see what happens if a patent is infringed by a public chain - what's the recourse?
Nor do I. Patents I've explored are either for permissioned implementations or entirely internal platforms and most were filed 1.5+ years ago. LFIs are beginning to realize the inherit "trust" implications of privately developed systems, which bodes well for broader adoption.

Triple entry accounting ftw! BAC - and other LFIs - have filed tons of blockchain patents. You can find them searching through the uspto patent database. Been wanting to do a deep dive on this for a while...
Was just thinking Peepeth is a perfect candidate for a dApphain. Definitely check out Loom, they're integrating with Plasma too.
