This 4th, I'll be celebrating what has historically made our country an amazing and wonderful place. And hoping our current issues are temporary. Happy 4th to all my Murcan friends and happy Wednesday to everyone else. I promise we will get our shit together soon.

Anyone doing any crypto-related celebrating for the 4th of July?
Funny story. My sister in law proposed once we celebrate the 4th in Australia and didn't get the irony.
Getting an object lesson today in Kubernetes and why it is important to understand what you are doing before attempting to do it.
Concerned about truly free peeping. Occurs to me that some dust per peep would keep the dumpster fire people away. We gotta do web3 wallet to peep anyway, what's a little dust between friends?
I'm not entirely sure why, but I despise preparing for lab presentations. Shit should just work the way I originally planned it, not the way things have changed in the past seven months. #cloudproblems

Thanks for sharing! Did you have a favorite area, town, or attraction?
My favorite activity of the entire weekend was getting to take the car out on the open Texas highway and never having to stop for gas! Was a little anxious a few times in RE busted chargers but we made it work! :)
Made it home with 8 miles left on the tank! Great first #blockchainroadtrip in the books

Adorable B&B we stayed at last night on the #blockchainroadtrip. Doubles as a barn on other side but very nice and cozy inside!

Hope it's in service! What's the longest mid-leg fill-up you've had on your trip so far? What's the longest day mileage-wise you've had? Stay cool!
Mid leg was up to half a tank as the back half fills slower than the front. Today was longest single run-168 miles from 3/4 tank to red line warning!

Jeepers it's HOT today I am roASTING
107 farenheit here!
New knowledge on #blockchainroadtrip. Standard US plug (110 volts), gives me 4 miles per hour of charge. Damn that's slow! 240 volts is 25 miles per hour which is what I have at home. Tomorrow, we will try DC fast for the first time at a blistering 90 miles per 30 min of charge!
Next stop on #blockchainroadtrip... a high brow restaurant in the town of Lindale, TX haha...the highest of high brow
My this stop on the #blockchainroadtrip was a planned charging spot in Tyler, TX. There are only three posts in about a 50 ml range so would have been nice if this one worked. Slight anxiety later, the lovely folks at the BMW dealer loaned me there's.

I thought McDonalds was the world’s public toilet.
It's a Texas thing
Stop number two was in the town of Mineola, TX at a traditional Dairy Queen, also known as a Texas potty stop. Good limeades!! Forogt a pic though whoops. #blockchainroadtrip

Exciting, have fun! Curious if the AC appreciably affects the range?
Yes ac always on in Texas. Can set car to range mode which turns all internal electronics off and makes ac less powerful but still comfy. Also, 60mph max for highest efficiency so back roads only!
Stop number 1. Old downtown McKinney TX whose old courthouse has the main doors not centered in the building which was odd. Neat story though about how the county was formed and cute little shops to eat at. #blockchainroadtrip
Bags are packed. Ready for first big EV road trip in our new Chevy Bolt. Will we make it!?

the reason no one is shitposting is because i was asleep
well wake up then and get with it!
Day 1 of no Twitter. It's like I'm sitting in a quiet waiting room, waiting for someone to shitpost on my head, and yet, no one does. Such wonder at the things I can do when I've still got a stream of friends in Peepeth and only the topics I care about in stream!
@abcoathup - two requests, even though I verified twitter, make it so I can default to NOT tweet and when (at) mentioning, give us a drop down to make sure I got the right person

Just downloaded all of my Twitter data and closed my two Twitter accounts. Next up is a FB/Instagram alternative. Any recommendations? Was a Twitter user since 2008. Feels refreshing.
It already feels quieter in my head this morning haha. What am I to do with all this free time!!!
@wgmeets Thank you for the Enso!

Other new things: set my default browser start page to cute pics of cats instead of the news. And uninstalled all news apps on my phone. Going hermit mode.

Greetings again. Just divorced Twitter. Too caustic and need to protect my health. Family pics and tech thinking from here on out. If you Peep, hugs, but help me by not doing politics. I'll have to unfollow you (no matter affiliation).

My story on decentralized apps, with a shoutout to Peepeth: https://www.forbes.com/sites/parmyolson/2018/06/25/blockchain-decentralized-apps-dapps/#15a759ad23a7 Do you think a significant growth in dapps is just around the corner?
I think for that to happen, end users need to not care/know that they are dapps!

Hes about the smartest 18mo I've seen (and I've got 5!). Also today, he learned to climb atop the kitchen table.
I'm a busy boy this morning learning how to fuss about mommy being away for five minutes
Observation: forcing self to use Edge as primary browser on newly RTM only Win10 without all the security stuff turned on. It's surprisingly less sucky and while lacks many extensions, those there are good. Fast ring + all the Win10 security bells and whistles just make unstable.

First Peepeth day. Hi, fellow peepers. First impressions are this takes some getting used to but blessedly similar to Twitter.
Hi Parmy - welcome! Twitter is the dumpster fire of the world. Peepeth is the un-that. Hopefully by making it semi/mostly/kinda/almost/free instead of free, the flames of dumb will stay over there!
Great to see independent apps for my Nano!

You are now certain that the data will be persistent even when your nodes go / get taken down. It just helps to resolve data faster, but your basic assumption is right ofcourse...
That makes perfect sense! Have been studying this post, which I now see was written by you! https://medium.com/@sponnet/peepeth-now-always-available-b1a43f382058 (swooooon!)

Pinning an IPFS hash makes the data it refers to persistent in your node's storage, so it will stay there forever until you unpin it, remaining available for others to find on the network. A 'pinning consortium' is a group of people/projects that pin each others hashes.
Why is that valuable? I thought the idea of IPFS was that data could be wherever and shouldn't care where. Or is my idea wrong? :)

I have a lovely genetic predisposition to them. Get them by the half dozen about once every other month. 6-12 at a time. Sympathy pain help? :)
I love driving my Chevy Bolt. But while it is in the shop, was given a Silverado blinged out. Yall, it's got AC seats. That's Texas style.

So there is this great team working on a decentralized app helper node ( DappNode ) that allows you to connect to the Web 3.0 - has support for .eth domains etc. So I decided to implement the IFPS pinning consortium as a DappNode App too ! #web3 #ipfs #ethereum
Confused by the benefit of ipfs pinning. Easy explainer handy?

Media, Nerds, Politics
I love this time of year. Many people out on vacation, end of our fiscal year, lots to do and few meetings. Getting stuff done at warp speed!
