How much energy does it take to run the Peepeth blockchain? A product like this is no good if it's environmentally unsustainable. Product teams need to be holistically aware of the ecological and contextual impacts of their software!
In my opinion, the impacts of a decentralized platform such as Peepeth, which has far reaching possibilities concerning speech, would be worth the ecological impacts (which I do not see as currently excessive). Also, use of renewable energy sources would reduce ecological impacts

The great thing is that you can create your own front end called PenelopeMicroBlogging platform or whatever name you want.
@Penelope, you know, Andrew does have a point. I'd check out Penelopeth if you got it up and running.

Please drop the -eth. Peep sounds a lot better. #dropeth
Welcome to Peepeth, Penelope! While it may sound odd at first, hopefully you'll come to embrace it like many of us.

That is definitely part of our mission. Once a charity or nonprofit works with us, they are set up to accept donations in ETH. Right now we are looking for willing organizations to lead the way
Have you considered reaching out to the Against Malaria Foundation? Looks like they take bitcoin, so perhaps they would be open to accepting ETH as well?

Yay. It’s public. I am so excited for this. This unleashes the peeps. No more gas blockers to peeping. Also makes other front ends more viable.
Well done on the suggestion, Mr. Coathup. Have a Foster's on me (or a vegan burger).

I recommend @abcoathup's writeup (he came up with the idea). Also, check out https://peepeth.com/help/signing. Basically, actions are now signed, guaranteeing authorship. Peepeth then batches those actions periodically, and saves them to the blockchain.
Congrats on implementing free peeping capabilities, Bevan. Looking forward to seeing increased engagement and more Peeple coming onboard. Here's some dough to cover some of your initial batch costs.

Congratulations to @Hannah for becoming the first to get the mosquito badge! She paid for the distribution of 15 long-lasting insecticidal bed nets- check out https://peepeth.com/malaria

This appears to confirm the net count is not equivalent to the Peepeth donor count

I see what you mean. It seems I have to view a moken with a direct link in OpenSea before it is displayed in the mokens category. Thanks for noticing and telling me.
Nick - suggestion: adding a link on each Moken to its listing on Opensea can help direct people who want to buy one.

I love the taste and texture of some meat. I am probably more on the animal side than on the health side of things. I enjoy #vegan burgers, sausages, jerky and bacon. I love the tech being thrown at meat alternatives right now. From my walk today:

Meat free bbq
I noticed a couple of meat free items on the grill are shaped to look like meat (burgers, sausages). Out of curiosity, is it meat free for as a
health choice or based on not choosing animal based products which require their demise?

493 out of 1461 total peepeth users have purchased a mosquito net and gotten their badge!! Pretty damn impressive. Who's gonna help us get to 500 badges?!
While I wish this were the case, I believe 493 represents the number of nets purchased with the donations from Peeple/Peepers. Still an amazing accomplishment. @Bevan can clarify for sure
