I lived in a share flat in a tiny room next to Baywater tube, plus about 12 months off and on in a shared room in a hostel. I loved the hustle and bustle. I assume you are in the southern commuter belt if you pass through Peckham. Where did you move from?
I'm from Canada, eh? I have dual-citizenship now. ๐จ๐ฆ๐ ๐ง ๐ฌ๐งโ

Yep, I live in #Croydon (not the one in Australia!) aka the #Cronx. Every time we moved, we went further and further out from Zone 1. Central London is amazing but it can get a bit much after a few years. Admittedly we hardly go nowadays, I prefer #gardening (so British!) ๐ฌ๐ง

That was 1999 ๐ in Bayswater. We moved from Peckham to Australia 6 years ago.
Ah, for a few years I had family living around Bayswater. Great place; it's super expensive now! I pass Peckham regularly on the trains into London, and have friends around there. I did the reverse: moved to the UK early 2000's.

I, personally, think it's better if they're accompanied by some sort of description so more people can follow what's going on. (And if they come in a trickle rather than a deluge.) But you can post whatever you think makes the world a better place!
Great suggestion. I also like to post pictures/screenshots: it's always good to put some description, context, things you were feeling--anything to make your screenshot more of a snapshot of your thoughts/feelings.
Nice to see you peepin' regularly @thecrazygamer16! ๐ฎ๐ง

Do an activity where there is a chance to talk to people and potential for a drink or a coffee afterwards. In London I did an acting class and that was awesome. The other part is routine. Do something the same every week, whether that is the same shop, restaurant or park.
Hey, that's my neck of the woods! I take it you're no longer (t)here...?

For everyone who has moved before: What was the most important thing you did to help yourself integrate into the new place? (make friends / become part of the community / feel 'at home')
Getting internet == Getting settled ๐คก๐ง
If you are moving, best of luck with the move!

#lkie A /now page could be a good addition to Peepeth to keep people apprised.
That would be fantastic--updates monthly or bi-monthly would be very useful!

Am I the only one thinking that #wireless charging is a waste of energy? I really donโt like how inefficient is this technology right now. ๐ โป๏ธ
Agreed! Slower charge, more wastage. To me it makes no sense. However I'm sure other people love the idea and I'm certain they have valid use cases. But personally it's not really my cup of tea... Give me a cable and fast charging anyday!

"Global Hypercolour" - 8" x 8" canvas. Black sponged based with neon acrylics on top. And even a little glow in the dark acrylic too. Named after the awesome t-shirt craze of yesteryear.
Damn, #Hypercolour! I remember those. Best way to hide how much your armpits were sweating... With bright neon colours...! Those were awesome. Thanks for mentioning that blast from the past.

This weekend the seed sowing frenzy has begun. I've also finally repaired the digital humidity and temperature sensor (dht11) for the raspi1a, which is used to monitor the conditions inside the seedlings tray. ๐ค๐ฑ Any peeps have neat #growtech to share? What're y'all growing?
#Tomato seedlings developing further. It's always amazing to watch plants in their early stages. They change so much every day. ๐ฑ๐ง๐

It's different - just an update on my life. What you'd say to someone if you hadn't seen them in a while and they asked how you were. I wish more of my friends did it.
It's a great idea, I would love to give it a try sometime.

Sleep time!! I was up the other night messaging at 3am. It messes with your sleep
Some nights I wake up and can't fall back asleep for a while, then I grab the phone to "check" stuff. It does mess with my sleep routine for sure. My wife keeps her phone in another room at night; wish I had that level of self-control! ๐ด๐ง

Update: it's only been 5 days, and some tomatoes have started sprouting. They're sitting on a windowsill above a radiator, dht11 reporting 21C. Nice and cosy for seedlings to emerge! ๐ฝ๐ฑ #growtech
Incidentally, if anyone's wondering why my kit looks so shitty, it's because the trays are many seasons old. Trying really hard to reuse plastics for as long as possible, and hold off buying more plastic material. Reuse all your plastics, #gardeners! Best way to recycle.โป๏ธ๐ง

@mgolder Would you mind telling us what #Brexit feels like on the ground right now? Less politics....more vibe, philosophy, coffee shop mood... etc... ?
Hope #UK peeps might also offer their perspectives on #Brexit, too.
For me, it's now full-on ostrich mode: sticking my head in the sand until it's over. I am tired of the polarisation. I preferred it when we bantered about the weather. I suppose we all deal with it differently.

Not monetizing something you intend(ed) to do full-time is a luxury. One that I don't share, unfortunately. That said... I actually don't use google analytics anymore on any of my sites. I use WP-Statistics or other server-side packages. Hunting down that call right now!
However that said, I would love to be proven wrong, and find out that there is another way, a better way. I'd be all over that, like bears on peepeth. ๐ป๐ง

Truth. A little bit of me dies every day, as I/we grapple with this issue. Many of us would love to provide services/info free of monetization, unfortunately reliable infrastructure and people don't generally allow for this model to work, if you're trying to make a living of it.

I havenโt registered with any other marketplaces. Trust Wallet and Coinbase Wallet both show horses that you own in collectibles. 3Box shows your collectibles too.
Cool, I've realised now that the only place I can reliably admire my #blockhorse is with a wallet. Opera Wallet also works fine, FYI.

Um... I was actually asked to test a new version of the sensor (with an untested coating), and the succulent was all I had at the moment. You give me too much credit. It seems obvious in retrospect, but at the time I didn't realise that a hardy plant is a poor fit.
It's always great to see two hobbies intersect, whatever the reason/opportunity/plant-tech-fit! Thanks for sharing that.๐ฑ๐ค Wish I had more hands on skills like you guys.

That is awesome on so many levels... has Sunday retired from travels now?
I'd love to see more pics of his travels, I can try to dig up Paddy Jr's pics sometime, he has so many.

Me, I've got a cactus and a few other succulents. I've tried this sensor, also from a colleague (a different one): https://wemakethings.net/chirp/ ... but soon stopped, because they're hard to calibrate for a succulent. Had to face it: they don't care much. #growtech
I also find it hilarious that you've gone to such lengths for the succulent. They are practically indestructible, but your dedication and love for the plants is clear, and is admirable.
We need more people creating #growtech!
