I find NFTs (ERC-721) incredibly fascinating. Here's what i've been attempting to #BUIDL in my free time lately: https://congreth.now.sh/. It's my first ethereum side-project I hope to bring to mainnet. Non-Fungible Tokens of US Congress Members, feedback welcome.
What is the licence on the USA congress photos?
I love the attributes. Gender is great to see stats on. Ethnicity if published would be good too.
Are all the attributes centrally controlled?

Do you have any suggestions on what would be the most handy thing to do regarding posting a link here on peepeth or should I just load the picture up to Peepeth?
If you want forever then post directly (though there is a size limit per image).
If you may need to delete in future post a link.

It is <i>very</i> cool @abcoathup - and the mastermind behind the idea should certainly be applauded. :-) I know that I like to advocate for tiny fees - but at this stage of the game explaining why takes longer than it does for potential Peeple to run away. The move was good.
Iβm going to take a small bow.
Though 80/20. (Or even 95/5).
Ideas are one thing, execution is another.
I emailed @bevan on 10th May. Just over two weeks later it was up and running. Less than three weeks total it was rolled out.
Big clap for @bevan

The great thing is that the front end is providing the free peeps. If you want to be a bad actor then you may lose the privilege. Then you can still peep but have to pay, so impacts ROI of bad acting (unless another front end pays for you).

"Over time, the user experience and speed will improve, but the per transaction fees likely will not." - and then *bam* free peeping. ;-) And this is before myriad scaling solutions give much more flexibility when it comes to network fees.
How cool is the *bam*. Game changer.

So will free Peeps work, since Twitter is "free" so to speak? I have no idea... I don't have a 100 peeps yet, but now the service has to subsidise
Peepethβs monetisation is by a share of tips (incentivise for quality) and by payment for verification (incentivise identity). Compare this with an advertising model.
The cost for submitting to the blockchain is relatively small compared with other costs.

How much energy does it take to run the Peepeth blockchain? A product like this is no good if it's environmentally unsustainable. Product teams need to be holistically aware of the ecological and contextual impacts of their software!
With Peepeth now moving to the front end batch saving to the blockchain on users behalf, there will be less onchain transactions compared with each user.

Peepeth uses IPFS and Ethereum.
Once Ethereum uses Proof of Stake sustainability will be much better.

Shameless promo for sharding development: https://github.com/Drops-of-Diamond/diamond_drops. Also more people working on Casper CBC is needed for sustainability of Ethereum, however sharding probably needs to be developed first since that's easier than developing Casper CBC first
