1 month has passed since I came Peepeth. I met fabulous Peeps and learned new things. So far so cool. I'm happy to be part of this community.
Very nice having you peeping.
That moment when the tech just works.

When am i getting in :(
#Experiment
I liked the idea of a Dunbar tribe so suggested a formula to find your tribe.
Peep # MOD 50 gives you your Dunbar tribe number.
Find your Dunbar tribe.
Hence I came up with #Dunbar7
@bevan could possibly be persuaded to create a Dunbar feed. Send some feedback.

It's been a while since I last used any cryptocurrency (back when I could buy .15 ETH for like $4), but coming back to it now I can see a beautifully built ðapp ecosystem! Ethereum's come a long way since then... and this site is a great example of that
Ethereum is moving very quickly. It’s an amazing time

One final to go, then only one more year of law school. Now this feeling will be documented forever.
Enjoy this moment.

How's the water temperature?
I haven’t put my feet in for two weeks. It was cold then. It’s been a month since I swam in the sea.

makes sense. i think i'd rather take a cooler to the beach, though. 😆
It’s cold at my local beach. I don’t think a cooler would be required.

Depends on the size and weight of your laptop. If you peep from the beach then you can call it mobile. 😀

"peeping peeping peeping night and day peeping peeping nothing else to say she peeps she peeps she peeps she peeps she peeps she PEEPS she peeps until she gets her way and drinks a bowl of milk" 15 years ago I would sing this song to a little dog we had named "the peeper"

Peepeth is no doubt growing at a pretty nice rate, but what do people think is going pivot this into more main stream adoption? (Bigger media press, growing use of dapps, bigger security/data issues with centralized social, just a matter of time etc)?
Onboarding, then engagement are two hurdles.
The simplest answer is to invite your friends and just keep peeping.
100k peeps and 10k peepers is the next step.
Nice interface that just works on mobile. Bonus points, using on mobile is first, then desktop.
Mobile, mobile, mobile.
The future isn’t desktop. We have multiple good options for browsing dApps on mobile right now. This is 2018.

Need to click "Sign In" first (sign a message from Peepeth) to activate the session. Once you are in you should see the "Invite" option. You will also notice once signed in that the last menu option on that dropdown will say "Logout".
Doh. I thought I was signed in when I didn’t see it. My bad, I must have logged out. Joys of mobile.

The question is mainly due to @abcoathup's alternate approach to having users sign a vote and record that on the IPFS and then batch save a summary of all signatures to the etherchain... the method I am using is trustless but incurs a higher operating cost in gas per vote.
It is a balance of trust vs cost vs complexity. I prefer low cost votes but look forward to seeing the results.

ok - so if I understand correctly - somehow a well formed IPFS object needs to be created an than a peepeth user can essentially associate the content with their account by posting this hash to the core peepeth contract?
Example peep on IPFS, modify the text, address and timestamp, store in IPFS, then pass the hash to the smart contract.

Word. I meant to use a screenshot of my main site for the image but then the linking didn't work so I posted it raw and it unfurled. All good, lesson learned. It was War Memorial Stadium. My wife was inducted into the hall of fame so we got that great picture at halftime.
Great memory in the stadium.

This goes over my head a little bit. Front ends can censor, but peeps will always be available on the blockchain, right? (not sure what IPFS is)
Yes, exactly.
IPFS is decentralised storage.
