Yea - etherscan was nice - and I also still use it often. But I am drawn to open solutions and etherscan started to feel more and more like an institution and SPOF

How can #Peepeth avoid 3rd parties to study (and sell) usage of the network? Public data on #blockchain are subject to this kind of things unfortunately.
All peeps are public and can be accessed by anyone, now and in the future. Knowing this upfront should change how people peep. I definitely self censor.
But you could analyse my sleep patterns from my peeps.

WallETH recently changed from etherscan to blockscout as the external blockexplorer reference. Main reason was that blockscout is open source. But also the support for more networks. Change actually came when introducing goerli. It was on blockscout before being on etherscan,
I use etherscan all the time.
I am so pleased to see the rise of BlockScout.

Good morning Peepsters. So, given there was a bit of downtime yesterday when #peepeth went offline, I'm wondering if there's some status page where we can monitor in the future or get details about #outages? Maybe a question for you wizards, @bevan or @abcoathup?
There isn’t as far as I know. Sounds like a good idea.

Thanks for the tip. That covered the minting costs so much appreciated.
Glad you like your horse.

It would be lovely to see this in widespread usage for packaging. Is this common in your neck of the woods? Unfortunately it's s rarity here.
I’ve seen it on some magazines.
Supermarkets have stopped handing out plastic bags at the checkout though still lots in packaging.

I’ve been thinking about what happened in #Christchurch all day and I have 3 conclusions. 1. Any Kiwi/Aussie guy is capable of what he did 2. It’s possible to be logical/competent in many ways yet base your worldview off a false premise 3. He wanted significance, & he got it

Just wondering: xDAI is POA and goerli is POA - why do you trust the xDAI validator set more than the goerli one? Even so much that you are willing to pay instead of just using it.
The difference between the two sets of authorities is that one of them we say the money is real and the other is just play money.
Replying to @ligi (0x0402c3407dcbd476c3d2bbd80d1b375144baf4a2)
I think users should use testnets. WallETH also starts up with the testnet goerli. So they can make transactions and try out things without cost and risk. Will perhaps make a filter for it - but it won't be on by default I think. Use more testnets!-)
I’m the opposite 😀 use more mainnet. I really like xDai for this purpose. Give someone a badge and a few cents to play with.
In poker you have to use real money.
Replying to @ligi (0x0402c3407dcbd476c3d2bbd80d1b375144baf4a2)
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will do some staring with filters for these stars that is already implemented for accounts. Do not really want to discriminate testnets tbh. I use them way more often than the main-net ;-)
I use testnets a lot but for users who don’t it can be confusing. Otherwise have the default option of not showing testnets.

WallETH now supports these networks: main, görli, rinkeby, ropsten, kovan, POA, sokol, ETC and xDAI We are living in a multi chain world - what network do you think is missing?
Should there be a separation of main and testnets? Be nice to have all the mainnets on the top.
