@austingriffith as you own the horse, I'd be happy if you wanted to mint some xDai badges using this artwork (assuming that the burner supports SVG).

It's ridiculous that a little flame by my face is what *most* entices me to peep daily. But here we are.

Just keep peeping.

I lost my streak at Christmas. It was sad.

How easy/hard was it to deploy? I've done like one intro to C++ course and now I'm considering learning Python. Would it take a lot of programming to learn to make something like BlockHorses?

Pretty easy to deploy using Truffle.

The minting and horse creation is horribly manual. (I need to write some scripts). The contract inherits from OpenZeppelin.

The code is all in GitHub.

At #buidl_bali I deployed BlockHorses.

It is horribly centralised (though I can give up my minter role and do something about the GitHub organisation ownership).

I have been sending horses to some of the people we talked about at #buidl_bali. I’m sure I am forgetting someone.

What is some of the most thoughtful writing that's worth reading related to the future of publishing & microblogging in a decentralized internet? Any suggestions or must-reads?

The idea behind free peeping: https://link.medium.com/UmVoctyb2U

TLDR give up some decentralisation to remove barriers for use.

A volatile currency (Ether) with a reasonably high transaction fee is a barrier for this. Definitely an opportunity to use a stable coin and a low fee blockchain (check out https://xdai.io Proof of Authority consensus with stable coin native currency).

Definitely opportunity to reward good content, though I haven't seen too much of the please fund me for X yet.

Cent is more focused on monetary incentives.

So the open API was interesting because it represented a chance to hack on it in the future? Kind of like having the ability to work on your car as a home mechanic?

An open low level API means that I can hack now. I have posted peeps directly via the smart contract before.

It also means that alternate clients can exist using the same base data set (though currently anchoring every hour and user batches is not ideal for this).

So do you think of this as a benefit? The way you describe here sounds weighty and maybe something that is limiting?

Having data be public means I am more aware of the implications than I might with a centralised platform.

I don't post photos of my family or generally my house. Not that I do that with Twitter, but with a permissioned platform such as Facebook I might.

Hide could then provide GDPR compliancy. Any client that wanted to be GDPR compliant could hide flagged peeps.

I wanted to be an early adopter, what took me by surprise was the amazing community and the friendships I have made because of Peepeth. I also didn’t expect to be the largest peeper or chief shill. I love Peepeth and am loving it find its place in the world.

I am not the typical user.

They are unlikely to care about the underlying technology, only if their network of Family/friends use it and what they can do with it.

I have a draft medium article on the case for delete for Peepeth. I think a hide is required. The benefit over centralised is that there is transparency.

5. No delete. Hmm, I am keen for hide and update (add versioning to give similar functionality to delete and edit). I think not having a delete means that typos, formatting issues, pasting errors and truncation errors pollute the feed.
