Here's a really cool video on how important biases are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFzDaBzBlL0 One of the new takeaways I've taken on subsequent rewatches is that your perception is pliable - yet you're limited to only one dominant form of perception (or bias) at a time.

I like this show! Always has interesting tricks/tips to share. :)

Should it be "illegal" to "hack" a public blockchain? Should it be illegal to interfere with a smart contract if such interference causes individuals to lose wealth? What about protocol level interference? What about nefariously obtaining access to someone's private keys?

With BC, things get a bit muddy. Are there privacy disclaimers with these wallets/software/Dapps? Are these attached to legal entities besides individuals/developers? Re: private keys, so long as nothing unlawful has happened to the wallet, nobody seems to care about access. -_-

Because of the breach in common privacy policies, hacking into anything would seen an illegal act, de facto. Afterwards, the law decides whether it was for good (i.e unmasking a pedophile) or for bad (i.e stealing someone/some company's funds).

At this stage, I have just about enough time for reading, thinking and processing as much info as I can. Next time I give BC dev a go, I'm sure there will be better tools and better resources around. Things are moving quite fast, I must say. :)

I haven't taken any BC course...yet. I looked into some (recommended) set ups a couple of months ago during my free time, and I was put off by how patchy-esque the whole process is. Now that I'm back to FT work+PT Web Dev studies+home renovations, I have no energy left for it.

<b>Course feedback:</b> very comprehensive coverage... <i>very</i>! Course states only requirement is operating a PC, I feel this is not true. Very high barrier to entry. Can't imagine anyone not familiar with coding, learning this way.

Good point!
I also think that there isn't enough talk about the hardware needed to jump the blockchain train. Whether it is running a node, coding a Dapp or signing a transaction, there are some minimum requirements that you can't bypass.
Clearly, no computing magic here. :)

Having a small cost associated with posting might make it cost prohibitive for bots... or would it? Some of these botnets may have political backing, and therefore may actually be able to sustain higher costs than an average user is willing to pay. 🤔

Exactly. Bots users often have a lot more to gain from using them, regardless of how much they cost.

Nice read.
Social media took advantage of the general public'naivete to mint money and a following out of user's data. The reversed narrative (i.e offering customisable services for decentralised networks) is a better idea, but people will need to learn Digi-techs beforehand.

Only having seen the URL: Like with everything else in the universe, the bifurcation is probably not that clean. Dividing the world into camps has already happened over and over again to the detriment of the global community. I'd prefer just to say: we can finally do p2p.

It seems to me that the world likes to divide itself in two camps. Whether it is politics, religions, cultures, languages; it is always a question of being IN or OUT of a camp. If there is a Middleground, it is made up of people who haven't made up their minds yet. :)

Very interested in the concept of UBI lately. Been doing my own research but interested to hear others' thoughts. Could we respect people who live off a universal basic income? What could it change about society? (This should go without saying but, please keep convo civil!) >_>

I think UBI makes sense in the context of/to encourage entrepreneurship/self-employment. Not being cynical, but it seems to me that whenever something is called "Universal", it almost always isn't. People will need to watch out for the font-size 5 fine prints... :)
