My words on this screen become what people know me for in a very specific community of peepers. These people around me at this coworking office see a dude writing on an orange website and totally not getting any work done. Lol

The more environments you traverse/inhabit, the better. It definitely helps shift perspectives and get you out of your rut/comfort zone...which is where interesting developments happen, as @jayethereum posted earlier on. :)

I should clarify, that's what I mean by environment. The people and objects that you live around. We need more words for this kind of thing! 'Community'/'tribe' sounds weird, 'group' is inspecific, 'ecology' is too clinical. But whatever it is, it's powerful.

You are right. Where I live, people use the word "community" and it it doesn't cut it for me.
Environment encompasses everything that is around: people, buildings, events, incidents, perspectives, discussions. It's the ecosystem in which you are immersed 24/7.

I'd just like to add that this is *always* true. We are always evolving, if we are living thoughtfully, we are always self-overcoming. Your associates (if you have them) -- but, more broadly -- **how you spend your time** determines who you will become. You, today, be vigilant.

You always have such well-rounded perspectives, @CallMeGwei.
Thank you for this elegant summary.

As long as they have those information, they can use them to do what you are saying.

This is why I go out of my way everyday to make sure that such information remains within my head and my close circle only.
And even if the info did leak, I believe that whatever doesn't kill you teaches you to live better. There are always lessons to learn and grow from. :)

I wasn't fair to myself here. I should have prefaced that with the fact that I've recognised the danger of 'edgy' humour for a while now e.g. I left Facebook in 2017, partially due to wanting to get out of private groups that regularly shared offensive memes. I try to be good.

I think that, more than your environment, the people you choose to surround yourself with have a massive impact on who you become. Whether it is your words or your worlds, it is important to choose very carefully.

Lots of discussion about Cosmos vs ETH on reddit right now. What are your thoughts? Is Cosmos an ETH killer or an also ran?

Cosmos is another level in blockchain scaffolding to me. I have my worries about the whole PoS, but at the same time, high staking makes sense because they want to avoid dealing with the randomness of amateur/dabbling developers on their platform, unlike Ethereum. :)

Yes, I understood and appreciate it but I am interested in systems that protect citizen’s #privacy too. Having both would be amazing.

I think it depends on what you call privacy and the scope of your quest to retain it. To me, privacy is about withholding information that can be used to adversely impact me (mentally and physically).
I see it as a mixture of being aware, deliberate and safe.

Thanks for bringing this up. Peepeth data is public, so it's up for grabs. Peepeth should educate people more about what that means.

Precisely. As you said, the availability of the data is not the crux of the problem. The issues is that people can sometimes allow 3rd parties suggestions to influence their decisions in MAJOR ways, especially when there is a lot at stake.
Learning to discern is the key. :)
