Any publishers around? What are your experiences with blockchain reward systems, like Brave rewards? Worth the time or still too early? I would say too early to implement now, but very promising.
I tip a lot with BAT because I don't have Twitter/Telegram. There is just so much trash being published under the guise of "articles" or "reports" that when I read a good one, I just have to let the writer/publisher know with a tip.
It's easy and it doesn't "cost" me much. :)

Indeed, it’s all still new and in its infancy probably. But I’ll admit it’s cool being at the beginning of it and seeing how things go.
Wait and see indeed!
The best thing about being here is that you have the opportunity to experience things as they come up and learn to make up your own mind about certain projects over time...

Maybe someone attempted to abduct them and they escaped from the plastic bag, one after the other...then you paparazzi-ed on them while they were waiting for a ride under the sun. :)

I am also curious to know how one gets around the need to be in contact with friends and family that do not yet use alternative platforms?
Simple. I didn't own a phone until I was 18 and I have spent most of my life globetrotting around the world like a ghost.
I like my extended African family, but they can get too much. So, I have taken measures to keep my space "ringtone-free". :)

Very impressive! How do you avoid the temptation to sync email accounts, install mobile social apps, and apps like WhatsApp (things friends/family expect us to use)?
I have whatsapp and I have synced my personal email account only because I might need it in emergency to send a file/document. Thing is, I don't usually switch the internet on my phone unless I need it. I much prefer to wait until I am back from home and use my notebook/wifi.

How long do you spend on your phone per day? Going to cut back to 1 hour and see what happens.
I use my phone as an alarm, a clock and a texting/2FA/(d)App testing device, so probably less than 10 aggregated minutes in a 24-hour period.

Digital deletable contents simply doesn't exist. There will always be a way to store a copy. We don't need to deliver this kind of unuseful features. We should educate people to understand that what you send, will be forever in the hands of the recipient.
Also, though digital content is somehow "permanent", it doesn't mean everyone has access to everyone's info. That's the exclusive privilege of people who have the tech/means to collect that data. That's why the Dark web thrives and extremists fora/platforms continue to exist.

+1 on being mindful about what is being sent/posted regardless. @scaur made some good posts on the topic a few weeks ago.
What makes BC and IPFS very disruptive compared to current SM is that there are bigger social/personal responsibilities attached to their usage. Tough shift.

Malheureusement, ce n’est pas la première fois qu’un monument du patrimoine national brûle lors de « rénovations » de façades. Vu le nombre de touristes qui visitent chaque année, c’est clair qu’il va falloir reconstruire…comme d’habitude. ☹

So, why not use any established testnet? Or hosted Ganache network? Or Loom sidechain? Or...?
Probably because that would equate endorsing a "particular" network/coin.
Need a University? Buidl it as a blockchain (with/out access via a coin). It is easier, especially now that the SEC has taken some steps to clarify what is/is not a security.

If I had to summarise in 3 points, quitting social media is... • trading your potential friends for your current friends • trading a 'push system' for a 'pull system' where you have to now initiate what feels like 80% of conversations • trading public image for productivity
Casual & real life socialisation/interactions are a burden I have to lift for most of my normal/working days. At least on Peepeth I get something from EVERY interaction I initiate/receive, because the gesture is deliberate, not just "polite". -_-
