Really The Work is awesome if you've ever had a massive loss of any kind, are pissed off at someone who doesn't apologise, or are stuck in any kind of cyclical relationship issue. it really brings home the wisdom of "you can't change others but you can change yourself"

Thanks for the recommendation.

as soon as I accepted I was depressed I started finding ways to get happy and alive again. as soon as I accepted I was unhealthy (but not morbidly obese), I began slower, more sustainable health practises. as soon as I accepted that people didn't like me, I started taking an objective look at how my actions affected others, & I became very grateful for those that tolerated me- gradually learning their social skills

Message from my past self reading my 2014-2018 journals. I think I've learned this lesson OK... over the past year. To not get distracted with preparing for inconsequential bullshit. To keep my focus down to as few things as possible. And constantly ask "Why am I doing this?"

#lkie

I recently started writing "why" next to each to-do item and including an expected value. It seems to help me prioritize more effectively.

Another sample from Dalai Lama's report, tracking conscientiousness and its facets over a 9-year span:

Personality traits can fluctuate over time. This shows the Dalai Lama's declining neuroticism. (From KnowYourself.ai's retrospective report; almost finished!)

Caveat: the Dalai Lama has a managed account. Although much of his Twitter content is his own words, not all of it is. Just using his account as an example.

Also: Emotional range is a synonym for neuroticism.

I tried a journal once, but I didn't have much to add. Later on, I started trying to take a single picture every day. It didn't have to be of anything special, just what was around me in my life at that time. I was more successful with that.

I've also tried and not succeeded with journaling.

This time I'm viewing it differently, less for recording events and more for reflecting on choices. Seems more fun this time, previously was quite boring.

The #KnowYourself link guides me to an URI with an empty page (literally nothing in the `<body>`), and nothing but `Successfully compiled asm.js code (total compilation time 2ms)` in the console. This in Firefox with quite a few privacy extensions. Anyone else seeing this?..
