Does KnowYourself work with non-english languages?

Not yet, but I hope to add support for other major languages soon.

James- I’m so sorry you went through that. Thanks for sharing your story. It’s important for others to understand that sexual assault can unfold through social coercion rather than violence, and to get a sense of perpetrators’ manipulative tactics. I’m glad you’re taking a resourceful outlook on it.

A counselor friend suggested this resource: https://1in6.org

It may be useful to others who've gone through similar experiences.

For Americans, there is also RAINN: https://www.rainn.org

So. My Stoic mindset dictates: how can I use this to become better? My answer: I know what sex assault feels like. Which means: - I can better support my friends if/when they get sexually assaulted - There's no chance I'll ever do it to someone else Also, I know the consequences of pushing my limits arbitrarily. There is such a thing as unnecessary discomfort. My mantra of 'getting uncomfortable' has caveats. #nsfw

Glad to know that! Mostly I do 5 or 10 minutes depending on how busy I feel at the moment applying a notion of not too short, not too long for yourself to finish it at the beginning. Hope this helps you to get started. 😌

That sounds like a good plan. The idea of doing 30 minutes or whatever in one session can be discouraging.

It’s been around a month with daily meditation. After a week of doing that, I started to see the change. Stressful work and life decisions seemed easier than before. I would recommend everyone to try at least five minutes a day. The most important part is to make it consistent.

#lkie You've inspired me to start up again. How much were you doing per day?

Sep 24, 2019 19:45

That's interesting. Anyone who practice notice the effects but it's quite interesting to see some studies done on the subject.

That's true, although it took me a couple weeks to notice the general effects of meditation in everyday life (I have not done a 30-day retreat). Even after that, there are times when the everyday effects can seem quite subtle, which is maybe why I go through phases with it.

Today was 30 minutes on the treadmill and P90X 22MHC Cardio 2.

Nice. I've been doing weekly 30-min run/walks in the last couple weeks. It's been great, and it boosts my energy that day quite a bit.

Not exactly "fun" yet, but last week I hit a comfortable stride for a bit.
