Sounds like a great setup. I want is a laptop harness so I can hike and peep at the same time 😂 preposterous but would be fun.

Yes, my main workstation has a desk with adjustable height and a treadmill. It works well most of the time, but I generally can't use the treadmill for more than an hour or two.
Sounds like a great setup.

What’s your workout today? Feeling some pre-squat butterflies.
Squats were a demoralizing slog today. Which means next time will be awesome.

Just a walk on the treadmill desk while working on my computer today. I started breaking out in hives yesterday, which I believe was triggered by some combination of sun, sweat, and the allergens floating around in the wind. I'll be taking it easy for a few days.
Hope you feel better soon. Is the treadmill desk your main work space? I’ve never tried one but like the idea.

Looks like you're hitting a bunch of the same points on my old bike route around SF.
Nice route. We did indeed. From Embarcadero to the bridge and back.

I resisted reading The Power of Now for a long time because I thought it was woo woo, but it's actually legit good advice. I like his distinction on clock-time and reality: namely, there is no time, the only thing that matters is how deep you are in the present, not the 'horizon'
A great book. Less an instructional manual for achieving presence and more an experience designed to get you there. Left brainers often struggle with it; took me a few tries to get into it.

Yay. Enjoy the adventure time.
Thanks. Cycling used to be a big part of my life. It was great to get on the bike again.

I remember over 20 years ago in San Francisco watching Shakespeare in the Park.
Cool, which play did you see? That is still on my list.

Made it back just in time to see Ayla Nereo.
Peeped some awesome bikes too.
There were some cool cars on display near Fisherman’s Wharf. #carsOfPeepeth
We’d planned on taking the ferry back to SF but the line was too long and we had a show to catch. So we rode back instead. Luckily we had a nice tailwind on the way back.
Adter crossing the bridge we rode to Sausalito.
Peeped this jet-skier under the Golden Gate Bridge today.

We saw my aunt. ETA for her getting out of the hospital is Monday. She's doing better.
Glad to hear that. Hospitals are not fun.
Another beautiful day in the Bay Area. Working on Peepeth badges then it’s adventure time.

Could this be because the Chinese have witnessed and heard stories of life improving much more rapidly in recent history and they mentally carry that trend forward? 🤔
That sounds reasonable to me. What do you think @hannah?

World's shortest horror story consists of only two sentences: "The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door."
Another gem: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." Often attributed to Hemingway.

With all the sloppy shit street nonsense that passes as news these days, I'm going to try to shift my time from news (I'm a junkie) to learning Japanese, which makes sense seeing as I'm in Japan. When it comes time to vote, I'll revisit news. Til then, fuck it.
#lkie At this point I’m happy with a weekly one-page summary. News can definitely be a distraction.

Ignoring the star-sign stuff, this is actually a pretty good guide to why we overcommit and what we need to make sure we take care of: https://goop.com/wellness/mindfulness/why-we-overcommit/
Interesting that she mentions how we’re often quick to do for others (and even for our pets, in my observation) what we won’t for ourselves.

Italian late dinners have rekt my sleep schedule. I gotta find a way to get back to my usual productive wake-up window of 4-8am. I love staying up late but unfortunately Jocko's right, discipline begins with waking up early. His tips: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYsx06WJr2k
