I use my phone as an alarm, a clock and a texting/2FA/(d)App testing device, so probably less than 10 aggregated minutes in a 24-hour period.
That’s impressive! I’ve never considered myself a heavy user but I’m clocking in at several hours on average.

Just read Tim Grover’s Relentless; Alex Honnold is a picture of a “cleaner” described in the book (like Jordan, Kobe, etc). After his free solo of El Capitan, Alex went for a workout.

I normally spend less than that, but am a heavy "regular" computer user... You only giving up the phone?
I won’t be reducing computer time. I don’t think it’ll increase much as a result of less phone. I’m reducing phone use to 1 hour of _screen_ time, as I’ll still be listening to audiobooks.

Attempted surfing in Santa Cruz today. Small surf, aggressive locals, and took a few nose dives. But it was still fun, the sun was out, and I got up on the last wave.

i can search for this info, but what would you personally do with lye to clean these up?
I haven’t done it but a friend has been restoring vintage cast iron pans using lye. I think you submerge the rusty item in a water / lye solution for a few days. But lye is strong (see the Fight Club lye scene) so worth researching first :)

huge score while on a walk. some weights derelict on a lawn two houses away from me. owner walks out right as i'm passing by and says I can have them, they've been there since before he moved in. 200 lbs total. even used weights go for about 50 cents a pound..

Nice. My arms are maxed out now. Excellent workout, I was whimpering involuntarily by the end and couldn’t do a single push-up. My shoulders are gonna feel like masochistic heaven tomorrow.

squats are hard, no two ways about it. but i feel they are the *most important* exercise one can do. it is NEARLY inevitable that one will not push themselves to their actual limit, but when i summon the will to do so, i am always glad i did. i want to squat 300lb this year.
That’s true; to hit my limit takes a lot of mental energy, especially in the higher rep ranges. Good luck with your goal. Are you on a program like 5x5?

My relationship with my Italian roommates is getting along swimmingly. They like to cook, I like to eat. (In return I do the dishes, but that works in my favour too because it provides opportunities to learn Italian)

Nice. Me too, in the form of dips and burpees. Glad to have taken up the latter (started doing them regularly in Bali) as they can be done almost anywhere and don’t take much time (doing a fixed number for time).
