This reminds me of the Sierra Nevada mountains in California, where I'd sometimes go skiing when I was younger. Although I'm sure many mountainous places look like this in winter :)

After eating the tasty food, I retreated to my guesthouse to rest. There are still some lingering symptoms from whatever was ailing me.

I spotted a penguin from my seat at restaurant Abe-Do. Can you see it? #penguinsOfPeepeth

Another traveler had written a short history of the restaurant, which is now featured on the weathered menu. I was surprised how much more I liked the restaurant after reading the story.

For lunch I stopped at a warung (cafe) that serves jamu, which means "traditional medicine" I believe, but most often refers to a "kunyit asam", a specific brew that contains turmeric, lime, sometimes tamarind and ginger.

Feeling a lot better after 2 feverish days in bed. I decided (probably unwisely) to hit the gym, where I unexpectedly got a personal best. I think it was due to my ~4% weight loss and rest over #buidl_bali, rather than the fever :)

#buidl_bali day 9 is drawing to a close. Today was demo day; we got to share what we've been working on. As usual, the day ended at the beach, and as usual, it was an awesome day.

We'll be peepin' up a volcano at o'dark thirty tomorrow. Off to bed for a few hours. Thanks all 🙏

After the beach this evening we had dinner at the local night market. We had soup, rice dishes, tempeh, sambal, and Pocari Sweat. While sweating quite a bit ourselves. Thanks #buidl_bali crew for another great day 🙏

Day 6 of #buidl_bali is coming to an end. We worked at the villa today and went to the beach in the evening. Off to bed early, as we have a full day of adventure planned for tomorrow.

Can't believe we've been here almost a week! It'll be sad to leave.
