I've been watching/reading about the Kowloon Walled City. It was a small isolated Chinese city in Hong Kong, which became a haven of crime and drugs, as well the most densely populated area in the world. Really interesting history.

China's one (and now two) child policy had a part to play in that. Many of China's citizens are moving overseas. Which, I think, happens with India as well. They have much IT talent and it helps get the immigration points. (Unlike lawyers...)
Is population control still a major concern in China?

Fresh fruit and veg, boxed for my convenience by a friendly grocery store manager.
I’ve known some others who liked to dive, but never did they get it boxed for them.

How long did the no knead bread rest before being baked? An the other ones?
I left them to ferment overnight, then turned them out in the morning, and let them proof for another 2-3 hours before baking. I’ll be giving it another shot in a few months once it is warmer.

This one was a no-knead white bread. Since then I've tried multiple loaves of wheat bread, but I can't seem to get them to turn out as well as the white bread.

That's good to hear. Did you add sugar or honey? I tried it without any sweetener recently, and found that there's still a decent amount of sweetness from the turmeric root itself. How was the tamarind version?
I drink a lot of ginger-based brews. Usually, I have them unsweetened, but I mix it up.
The tamarind changes it into something else completely. I wouldn't say it's better or worse, but it's a flavor that can easily be dominating. I'm still trying to get the balance right.

Peepeth uses a clever system of batching up to 15 actions into one big bundle that gets hashed. You then do a single sign action for that hash. Peepeth takes that and batches it with all the other users to create a single hash for everything. The Peepeth commits the final hash.
Since Peepeth is doing the commit, they pay the tx fee. Since they are batching everyone together, it's actually a great bargain.
Peepeth used to have individuals pay the tx fees for their own posts. It ended up getting expensive! Batching is a much better system for everyone.

My new favorite drink. Juma is a mix of fresh turmeric, ginger, sometimes tamarind, lime, and honey.

I returned to the avocado place from yesterday. I usually like trying new restaurants but my aim next door was closed, there wasn't much else around, and I like avocado.

I did a Hatha yoga class today, my first class in years. I'm not as limber as I hoped I would be, but it was enjoyable. Ubud is a big yoga destination, apparently at least in part because of the movie Eat Pray Love.
It's definitely hard to stay limber when you have a sedentary occupation. I stretch and exercise daily, but I lose flexibility if I don't do yoga regularly.

Could a blockchain based ranking system avoid/reduce spam on emails? One big smart contract listing/updating the score of an address (each email address could be associated to one key) could work, don't you think?
It very well could help reduce spam and scams. There are actually a lot of great ideas on how to improve the mail system. Unfortunately, it’s very difficult to change such a deeply engrained protocol. You have to get all the big companies to both agree and change as well.

I first tried the chilis in fish sauce in Vietnam, where it's a pretty ubiquitous condiment. I like the oyster sauce too.
Fish sauce is an interesting one. I've had it on countless occasions when I was younger, but it's one generally pass on now. It may be tasty, but the smell just isn't worth it to me.

I just finished watching this. Kind of sad, but at the same time, it didn't really seem like that guy really had it that bad. If he'd stop buying expensive clothes and focus on learning English it seems like he could achieve his goals.
