"2. Accept that uncertainty and disorder, and relax into them." i have done the first part, but it is hard for me to do the second. i (and i know some others) have a fear of relaxation in that i feel i won't be as productive if i don't stress out. quite the conundrum!

It's possible to be both highly ambitious and focused on a goal, while giving up the unnecessary stress. In fact meditation = more done, less stress.
Of course, I'm learning & still suck at this haha.

I enjoyed that episode too. Got me thinking about what I'm hedging on. Liked the "leaning in" analogy too (forget exactly how it goes).
Leaning in - as in leaning forward on the snowboard paradoxically makes it safer and easier, although it feels more dangerous?
A lot of analogies there...

I love jobs! I don't want to be a business owner. I just want to work and contribute to society. I think entrepreneurism is way overrated. Capitalism isn't bad, but it shouldn't be an excuse for social neglect. We are one big family whether we like it or not.
Well I agree with all of your points there.

explain yourself first, shill later. I like it.
Yeah. Or better, don't shill at all - just ask for feedback on your offer, help others, and get reached out to by others only if they are interested. I'm sure constantly selling others is exhausting as being constantly sold to.

i'd be lying if i said i didn't come to crypto for the money, but at this point i really don't care about the price of crypto. The thing about peepeth is that if you get a spammer you just mute them. the only exception is $deez but all others are an auto mute in my eyes.
I agree, in the space of a year I've been from "interesting" to "buy buy buy" to "I don't even care how much crypto I have, I'm here for the long run"

Hey Peepers who work in crypto - would you be into a professional industry group? If yes, what would be your criteria for awesome? I like the idea of 'growing the pie' of crypto companies ambitiously but also ethically: spreading awareness, educating, helping each other grow. /1
The ideal member base I'm looking at would be those actively working in/on exchanges, consultancy/advisory firms, coin projects, ÐApp development studios, & crypto-related companies... can anyone think of valuable additions?
I realize coin projects may find no-ICO rules hard. /6

no ico adverts is super hard for companies because profit i guess idk
Perhaps.. maybe something more nuanced like "No single-post ICO advertisments". Something where you have to explain more about your company and have it as an offhand kind of link.

I definitely don't want to add a lot of rules (not least because I dislike them myself), but also considering stuff like "no discussing crypto prices" and a stringent group acceptance process (where someone doesn't just get invited, but interviewed if they want to join). /4

The main thing: not becoming like every other crypto chat where it becomes swarmed with "buy my ICO!" brigading, and the short-term get-rich-quick'ers drown out the patient, value-focused, long-term people. /3

My current ideas for rules are:
- No ICO advertisements
- No solicitation
- Invite only, pay for membership as a barrier to entry & get people invested (funds are group decided e.g. charity or paying towards educational content)
- No breaching privacy or sharing w/o permission /2

The rest of the cryptosphere is bemoaning the price fluctuations - but our dear @d2r2 and @JamesScaur are pondering aspects of the modern human condition. And /this/ is exactly why the world needs Peepeth. Not just because it's on a bockchain - but because "the values platform".

Regarding #2, it's a good question if only because 'exploitation' is a loaded word and highly subjective. I could argue that I allow myself to be exploited by working for someone; they are using me, after all. But I have a choice. What about those who have no choice?
You have a good point about exploitation though! 100% true that there are many people with less choices/opportunity who are disadvantaged. I think the misunderstanding is that I was talking about benefits of working, and didn't specify "by choice, in a first-world country" /5

Also, there's the other great thing, not all jobs are dead-end and many enable people to grow and do important stuff and make the world a better place. In fact I'd even say the majority of jobs do. That's what my original observation was - jobs are awesome. /4

So yeah, I wouldn't accept for a second that anyone is trapped in a dead-end job. If you're talking about no-choice, then it's not a job.
Also a funny thing about choices: as soon as you ask "how can I turn this dead-end job into something greater?" it becomes way better... /3
