Forever
Lol.
How do you create economies for games, what type of person uses them, and why do you do it?

Peep batches are saved approx every hour.
Righto, so it could be even closer.
I’m thinking something like, if I publish on 7pm Wednesday, then I get a countdown showing for 7pm Wednesday next week. With an option to save earlier if I want to.

If offering an ability to edit, why not offer an option to save to the blockchain rather than make it a requirement? Peepeth states it's meant to be an uncensorable alternative to Twitter. Having the option to lock in, rather than requiring it, provides that
Hmmm.. maybe only allow people to reply to your Peeps if you lock them in?
Aka people can do preliminary replies. But you get a big message saying “you will lose this if you don’t save to the blockchain”
Make saving desirable and worth the premium cost... a status boost...

nice series! i like reading your thoughts organized into succinct points.
Aw, thanks @pluma! That was just my midnight ramblings, but I do love my bullet points (and peeping of course)

Just found out about @Bourdain. As with most public suicides there is a reaction of “why did they do it??” ...but I’d like to respect his choice and thank him for what he gave in his. He lived more life than most of us in his 61 yrs, and knowing now that he had depression - (1/2)
- makes him all the more impressive. Thank you @Bourdain for your excellent, entertaining, quirky, and hilarious TV shows. Rest easy, and see you on the other side. (2/2)

I believe there should be a edit and delete buttons that only work before actions are committed to the blockchain.
Hm, temporary editing abilities but lock-in after a cutoff date... maybe batches every 12AM/PM, and your pending Peep gets added to the pool that's closest to 7 days past your post time... interesting

A bit. Decentralised projects need blockchain and decentralised storage.
Nice - I forgot that you actually came up with Peepeth's new batch signing idea. What are some of your projects?

You can't undo actions. It's a ludicrous proposition. To attempt to 'undo' is an action itself. No wonder we're so messed up if we worry about this nonsense. "I'd like to take back that fart." Right.
Heheheh. You win my first pin, friend.

<b>Why I like Peepeth p5</b> I get * No take backsies * To show my human side * No worries about censorship or data loss * A constant, ever growing online presence that serves me Not to mention the awesome community and little things like being able to add HTML to posts.
Makes it very easy to do series!

Blockchain storage rent and IPFS storage costs will come but there is no guaranteed delete.
Interesting - have you played around with IPFS by chance?

<b>Why I like Peepeth p2</b> On Peepeth I can't be perfect. But I also can't pretend to be. Typical social media - from publishing platforms to instant messaging - is ephemeral & very easy to edit/delete. But Peepeth? It's forever, so long as a copy of the ETH blockchain exists.

<b>Why I like Peepeth p1</b> I'm perfectionistic. When I have a blog, I want every single post to be as comprehensive as possible. I want the CSS to be beautiful & "just work". Vlogging worked for me primarily because I would screw up so much that it was impossible to be perfect.

this was a great read. we all need to practice self-compassion. i think a lot of us are actually trying to do just that, but many of us find ourselves in a world that is even less compassionate on the whole. we could all be better to one another as well.
Yes, definitely.

I open this Peep account on my 10 year Twitter anniversary. 9 years ago I deleted my 1st Twitter account cause it no longer reflected my way of thinking. How much have you change since then? Do you remain being, thinking... the same? Blockchain is forever
I'm guessing that for most people, 10 years is radically different - even in your 60's, 70's, or 80's. But you raise an interesting point. I think the forever aspect of blockchain based soc. media is good - so long as accountability stays.

Finished #WhenBreathBecomesAir. Absolutely beautiful. Reads more like poetry than biography. Much less depressing than I expected. A good story about grief, striving for an asymptote of perfection, realism, and courage in the face of death. The author's last words were brilliant.

Great so far!
Finally getting around to reading #WhenBreathBecomesAir - autobiography of a literature grad turned neurosurgeon who got inoperable lung cancer at 36. His writing (do you call it prose?) is fantastic so far.
