Reality is stranger than fiction—He was an investor in Bitconnect. A cryptocurrency scam that lost most investors their life savings. Yet he made money. I’m dumbfounded. The more I read the more confused I get. https://twitter.com/JamesScaur/status/1106437580957118464

I’ve been sitting here for the last hour trying to put my finger on something weird but I can’t articulate it.

He’s stupid yet smart, empathetic yet uncaring, lucky in all the wrong ways, & uncomfortably similar to me.

I want to encourage replies and engagement so keen to see replies out of the main feed. Which would also increase the incentives to create quality top level peeps.

What about if replies weren’t on the blockchain?

Cool conversation @joerogan w/ @Minds Bill Ottman…

Joe has a good counter to open source's 'inevitable' takeover: "Is that possible b/c you engage with a lot of other super-nerds, and you guys all have these similar ideas?"

An interesting idea for Peepeth could be disincentivizing posting top-level peeps, and instead incentivise re-sharing/commenting on your/others old peeps. Like Stack Overflow: if you go to post an item, it comes up with related items, & you only create a new if they're irrelevant

@Bevan how difficult would it be to integrate a non-chronological peepfeed? I.e. getting peeps all the way from right-to-this-second to the creation-of-peepeth

There's four types of data I want in my life: 1. unseen • integrated with tools that create useful instructions for my life • private 2. immutable • useful for others • public 3. temporary • useful to others • public 4. controllable • valuable (in a business sense) • permissioned

I should add (in a personal sense) to #4 too.

Add things like personal messages, location data. I also want that controllable and permissioned.

1. Health metrics that let me know specific actions I should take (go to bed at X time, eat more Y, do Z workout)
2. Peepeth, and longer-form blogging/video platform with crypto signatures
3. Announcements/updates/news
4. Tokenized assets, encrypted git (e.g. Keybase)

@DuckDuckGo is super underrated. Not just private, but the !bangs are powerful productivity features. E.g. !btc !eth 🐧🔁 @emanuele on @peepethApp: "The ultimate guide to #DuckDuckGo https://brettterpstra.com/2019/03/07/the-ultimate-guide-to-duckduckgo/ #privacy #privacyMatters"

"!btc 12345" on @DuckDuckGo = "https://www.blockchain.com/search?search=12345" for example.

That one bang saved me quite likely several hours doing customer support @Cryptopia_NZ

Correct, each has a special relation too. E.g. Timbo is for Tim Ferriss, a ‘gateway’ for many into productivity (especially the concept of “batching”) & entrepreneurship, Branson is for Richard Branson, well known for being a people-person and his saying “screw it, let’s do it”

How does “screw it, let’s do it” apply?

It takes multiple types of requests (GET/POST), and no matter what the request, it’ll almost be able to do something with it (update sensitive user data, update non-sensitive user data, create a new user, create an auth token)

But no worries - even though my account couldn't have as secure a password as I'd have liked - @Visa jumped in and saved the day. Because if I've logged in from Eastern Europe, of course I've been hacked, right? /s https://twitter.com/JamesScaur/status/1104079249735065602

Yet another reason fiat needs an upgrade. #Bitcoin wouldn't have blocked me from sending money internationally. My identity would be verified by the transaction itself.

One of my favourite things about txBatch is all the easter eggs I'm putting in the backend.

•Charlie is the front-end app
•Timbo is the API gateway
•Larsson does batch tx searches
•Branson handles user prefs
•Pomp gets the latest state of a given blockchain

Guess the meanings??
