@Kpaxs can't remember where I saw it but "our feelings are more real to us than reality"

It makes sense. We can ignore all types of physical realities for our feelings, while our feelings can actually cause physical realities

@melt_dem and @_jillruth release a new podcast ft. @blockworksgroup - What Grinds My Gears. First episodes sound cool, I'm keen to listen more.

24:30 on how Venezuelan officials are confiscating mining equipment to use for themselves.

Funny story behind this song. It sounds great but it doesn't make sense. Why? It's by a bestselling Finnish rock band who didn't care what the words meant.

Kant is phenomenal. I'm still reading through The Metaphysics of Morals, but in my opinion he is one of the guys who "gets it". His ability to abstract is extraordinary.. which can make it tough to read sometimes. Check out his Critique of Pure Reason or Metaphysics of Morals

Awesome. I don't have time right now but I'll remember this peep in 3 months.

Definitely underserved. Just wait until dApps become mainstream, and more consortiums (big company alliances) use crypto to sign docs, prove supply chains... we're at the tip of the iceberg.

I'd use the Peepeth flair route as default - and I'd bet most of us want more people on Peepeth. It's a way nicer place to hang out than Twitter :)

@Bevan - doesn't look bad (omit brackets and it doesn't even take up a lot of space...)

BTW repeep.co is also available for $10 on Namecheap right now (save 2 chars)

Sick - I've been recommended to read Kant for a long time by @IAmMarkManson but this might tip me over the edge:

"Kant argues that space and time are merely formal features of how we perceive objects, not things in themselves"

Yeah, nice. I'd gladly omit extra content in my peep if I was able to include a short 🐧⤵️ for context. Maybe reduce limit to 277 chars when "Tweet" box is selected? Also, I might make this a personal sideproject at some point - would love to have a native "repeep" for tweets

i.e. copy over content to Peepeth natively vs. embed the tweet. Clouds disappear and so do tweets - but Peeps don't.

It's entirely possible, in my mind, that the entire physical world we see and feel is an elaborate dream - allowing unexplainable things to happen. But simultaneously I can't stop myself from being a skeptic and asking "how's it possible?" I want to come up with some ideas...

check out youneedabudget.com, that will give you a great food for thought about what budgeting can really do for you. Budgeting allows you to spend coherently with your goals. Without a budget, it's like driving with a blindfold. :P

Haha, I just read this after recommending YNAB in another reply. They're great. Seems like we have the same mindset on these topics.

My main point earlier wasn't that budgeting was useless, but that being poor makes people waste a lot of time thinking about money (negative loop)

Gotcha, that's where the misunderstanding comes in... I agree. For the last year I used @ynab to save for coming to Europe. It gave me a lot of insight - primarily, that I was was too stingy with the right things (penny wise and pound foolish)

After adjusting my budget & knowing I had $XXX for organic food/supplements/books/educational courses, I definitely got a lot of freedom and felt much more aligned with my values.

Even the final step of dropping several months savings on flight tickets, didn't feel extravagant.

but budgeting is NOT penny pinching. That's where we disagree at the core. You can spend massively while budgeting. Building your net worth is not the main goal, but that's a usual consequence ;) It's all about awareness, not penny pinching.

Sunday is my favourite day for my weekly review. A walk, a coffee in a nice cafe and my notebooks. Anyone else doing a #GTD review weekly?

Not so much GTD but I do like to 'diffuse overwhelm'

1. Write down in a notebook every single thing that I want to do or causing anxiety

2. Go through each item scheduling a relevant batch/appointment in the next few days or crossing them out

3. Delete all my old appointments

Budgeting is never a waste of time. It's not about restraining yourself and feeling miserable. it's about spending with intention and feeling empowered and good about how you spend what you have, according to your values and dreams.

Fair point. Definitely can remove certain unwanted feelings about money like uncertainty how much you have, spending guilt, etc.

I think Nat's point is worth entertaining though.

The goal is to increase your net worth and after a while, penny pinching is less effective.

Why do you think that Telegram is not the best WA replacement? :) I use Telegram with those who know better and Viber with most of the others. Viber is somewhat on par with WA, although it does look a bit more polished than WA.

Security wise - I saw this post: https://security.stackexchange.com/questions/49782/is-telegram-secure#49802

I still use Telegram ofc, and my knowledge of encryption is low, so I have no idea whether I'm actually ever being secure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That's what really sets me on fire about crypto, actually - the possibility to help everyone everywhere get more money (= ⬆️opportunities, ⬆️health, ⬆️relationships, ⬆️specialisations, ⬆️ethics, ⬆️learning) without needing to take away from others...

I talked to @adirajgupta about this once and he put it brilliantly: "People are going to need money to just exist"

And sure, that may be difficult to pull off, but crypto's going to make it a hell of a lot easier. And most importantly it's gonna be a lot harder to fake/corrupt.
