RP @paradigminc:

I found the term “over-milking the same cow”...

If you load up a team with a full week of work, don’t also expect creativity, innovation, meetings, customer support, “just a quick question”...

I agree, right time to do it while crypto is ignored.

My argument is that founders didn't want to exit scam. There's either something fishy going on or a very good hacker. All of which I'm sure will be revealed later.

Beyond the great beyond. Good luck finding them :)

I'm inclined to believe that 5g/increased EMFs is causing cancer (at the very least disrupting sleep which causes cancer), and additionally fluoride isn't as necessary as we think it is. Both seem like hamhanded solutions to problems without thinking of consequences

Jan 21, 2019 13:11

Yeah man zero chance founders set this up as an exit scam. Either a very good hacker or inside job. I don't have any information besides public domain.

There's another book called Radical Honesty by Brad Blanton that advocates "telling it like it is", not withholding anything- at lleast that's what I remember of it. Reminds me of the Jim Carrey movie :) The Lying audiobook is narrated by the author, not a bad way to read it

Worth reading the whitepaper from the @streamr team. I only had a brief skim, but from the gist I actually reckon they're solving an *underrated* problem - how do you effectively monetise & exchange realtime data? It's only going to become a growing problem

Although many will attest to wanting to be told the truth (including me), telling it un-tactfully can sour relationships. I think our lizard brains know that, and create resistance / fear to truth-telling. *Tactfully* overriding that instinct is a worthwhile exercise.

Yeah, “tact” is the real skill here

If you think someone is fat, ugly or sexy then stating this would be true. In the sense that it is your view. If someone asked you if you liked them and you didn't, then saying yes would be a lie. Lies are kinder that's obvious most lies are social lies.

Perhaps. I’m not good with hypotheticals. For me and the people I know, I’d much rather give and get honest assessments.

It’s kinder to know the truth upfront so long as you’re brave enough to face it.

And it depends what you’re policy is. Fit into the norm? Sure, then lie.

Honesty is the best policy. No it isn't. Examples: I don't like any of your friends. You look really fat in that dress. I think your mother is really sexy. Your baby is very ugly. Honesty is rarely the best policy.

48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene has some good related ideas to this I think are worth entertaining.

However, I disagree. (& I disagree with the examples too - is "really fat/sexy/ugly" true?)

Lying for me has always been out of fear. In my experience truth is always kinder.
