He was a doctor and needed to crowdfund for medication? Sounds like an amazing guy. A bit like Kalanithi. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/07/books/review-in-when-breath-becomes-air-dr-paul-kalanithi-confronts-an-early-death.html
Yes I was very surprised by the similarities after reading the book myself earlier this year. Both of them exceptionally intelligent men, lovers of literature, husbands and fathers, and medical doctors - who got lung cancer after never smoking a single cigarette. Abrupt & cruel.

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like he lived a good life and positively influenced many. Take solace in that he will always be in your memories.
Yes. Certainly in a personal sense he was a role model to me and was very generous with his time in the last 12 months. I have plenty of book recommendations and things I want to study now thanks to him (e.g. history, classics, biographies).

He certainly was and will continue to be.

oh james, so sorry to hear this. may he rest easy. ❤️
Appreciate it @pluma… yes, he’s at peace now.
My uncle Lincoln passed away yesterday afternoon. He was a great man — thoughtful, kind, witty, brave, and incredibly intelligent. I admire him for so many things but the first that comes to mind is his exceptional grasp of the English language - E.G. https://bit.ly/2MDDOrG

Hi, I changed my mind. This place is somehow divided between the over and underground. Overground it's boring and the people are affraid of the police, once you go to the underground it's a paradise.
Hey @newairgoodair - are you still in Tbilisi?

How was it @Anton?
Nice blockex UI @Crypto_BE. Also like your ability to search multiple chains in one query + see all results at once...

I'm currently studying a 6-month virtual course, with webinars held bi-monthly. Currently at 11AM New Zealand time. Comfy.
That's 3AM Tbilisi time. Yeesh.
We’re rather close to the 3000 mark. Interesting. 26 to go before we have 3x as many users as it took for me to sign up.

80s leather on top of 90s track suit, on top of much more modern ride :D That's a fashion statement as well. #transcendence Also, socks FTW!
Right you are... there’s nothing track about the suit pants though lol

Are those purple paisley socks!? I love them!
Correct! Happy Socks are my one true vice.
Watched @McQueenFilm last night.
Fantastic movie. I walked in a fashion-oblivious dork and walked out with a newfound appreciation for:
*Aesthetics
*High fashion
*Dressmaking skills
*Using clothing to make a statement
…But no worries, I didn’t catch a fashion sense or anything
🌐 Update
Moving to Tbilisi (🇬🇪) no longer Chiang Mai (🇹🇭).
Yes, Georgia, the country not the state. By most modern accounts a vibrant, growing, and most importantly *blockchain-friendly* city with a diverse culture and history.

I know I promised to do a video/article on changing my name, but to be honest, the experience is much more normal than I imagined. Especially for a last name. A couple of people notice, but majority of people just accept it. The main thing is logistics - pay the fee, sign, done.

Unfortunately true. I wish everyone was interested, because it’s amazing tech and fascinating. But one day, everyone will be using it (like we use our phones) and almost no one will care how it works, haha.
For sure :) A recent talk I went to featured a BD manager related to my (current) company - he made a point that most cryptocurrency we see will consolidate+disappear from public view, and blockchain will find more esoteric, specific, biz use cases - tiny invisible efficiencies.

but to rely on google for assisting life has its own down side. like it will affect how we think. have a problem? google for solution.
That's true, but I think it's inevitable that we'll continue to use technology as an extension of ourselves. And that people will adapt to the challenges and consequences of that trend.

Don't we have #4 at least? DAI has been relatively stable, hasn't it? Stable coins are under-rated. Build them on top of a decentralized public ledger and they can combine the best aspects of both crypto and fiat currencies.
Haven't checked it out myself but agree - fiat pegged tokens are a great way to combine benefits.
