Is it just me, or do all the major life events (ups, downs, wins, losses - often all at the same time) tend to cram themselves into tiny periods of time, with the rest of day-to-day life being mundane, processual & largely ignored? Creating newness each day is the real challenge…
It's funny to look back at my last few months, all the new plans I've made, and how they've changed. New bike serviced & ready for commute & long-distance rides. New flat. New friendships. Business plans. Long-term career plans. Not discarded, but modified. Bittersweet, exciting.

This week has been busy: 1. Turned 20 2. Anglicized my name to Scaur 3. Got an unexpected opportunity to go travel & work with one of my favorite things, dapps 4. Gave notice for the first job I actually really enjoyed 5. Visited Mt Hutt / skiied for the 1st time

I have some great news to announce: I'm joining a startup offering performance-based advertising (i.e. app installs) for dapps. As part of this, I'm moving to Chiang Mai in Oct (I was offered remote work, but I like to commit 100% to projects) Also went skiing for the 1st time:

This is the picture which will come to mind for Elon Musk forevermore. And that is a good thing.
If you've read his biography, this isn't new - he might be a damn impressive operator, but he doesn't shy away from new things.

Def check out https://carrd.co/. @scaur brought them up the other day. They look great, and for 19 USD/year you get bunch of options, including adding your custom domain. For $9 you get .carrd.co domain, which still sounds better for business than Weebly.
Alternatively if you're a web dev and don't mind expending the extra time, you can get the same looks over at html5up.net and pixelarity.com :)

This is my first peep. Starting with a smart quote. "Better late than never!"
But rest assured @afri, you're very early ;)

Coinbase has killed chat/bots in Toshi (Coinbase wallet) :( I think this was the best feature of the app - sending money between users while chatting
Luckily we can still send each other money though ;)

The overlay covers the page, but the action it wants me to perform is hidden inside the dropdown I get when I click on the metamask icon in the toolbar. I'm on the Brave browser with the metamask extension installed.
Aha, got it. Yeah, I think I remember that behaviour with Brave. I'm not sure if this is a Peepeth solution, perhaps more a Web3 extension solution where you can 'whitelist' websites to auto-sign in or auto-sign-in after the 1st password entry.

Thanks. The most confusing thing at the moment is messages telling me to do something, like "Click Sign" but not telling me that that action needs to happen in the metamask extension.
Yep, good point - does it not come over as an overlay for you?

Better site made. Feedback still appreciated... I hope I've made a good mix of flexible + well chosen rules, and have expressed what I want in the group clearly enough. https://blockchainprofessionals.group/

😂run for prez with that name! can't lie though, i will long for the days of ink and paper (do own and use a typewriter on occasion), but ease of use and time saved (time is the most valuable thing we will ever want for) will be worth it in the end. congratulations, james! 🎉
Yes totally get you there. In fact @OmmWriter is one of my favorite guilty pleasures for this very reason. Typewriters are awesome and I feel like they’re a lot more thoughtful, no?

When your shoe is broken enough to the point where you can actually fix it because it’s loose enough to tie together. I think this has some metaphor to software development but I can’t put my finger on it.
• When a bug first appears you don’t care because it doesn’t affect the UX
• When it starts interfering with UX you pay attention
• You’re far more likely to create a lazy fix than diagnose the root cause
• Then you’re so proud of the fix you say “it was intentional all along!”

Some nerds are girls. Some nerds are hot.
Crypto nerds are better partners. They’re transparent, eminently trustworthy, will always come to consensus, & are patient instead of breaking down under stress. They’re also better lovers, but you’ll have to get used to having a decentralised relationship to reap those benefits.

Leaving Peepeth headquarters (aka Universitätsbibliothek Freiburg)
Heading up to Denmark per chance?
If you do, make sure to check out the beautiful Kongelige Bibliotek (King’s Library). Great wifi & computer books, great design, and great view.
The old king is dead. Or rather, deaf. In the left ear. [He makes a good pair of undistracting biking headphones.]
