Love the wool Ts. I once wore a single Icebreaker shirt (from NZ) almost every day for three months on the road, laundering nightly. I still have one that is 15 years old and looks new, minus small hole.
Worked out earlier today (calisthenics/sprinting), got rained on, and still don't smell nor feel like I've sweated. The hippies got something right.

Anyone in Prague keen to meet up? I'm a software developer running a crypto startup - we've recently decided to pivot. I used to work at a (now infamous) crypto exchange, and I've been into Bitcoin since 2013.

+1 for designing an ideal day. The stuff you do all the time really adds up. I read a story about a hypothetical after-life (in Sum: Tales from the Afterlives, a @sivers recommendation), where you'd re-live your life one activity at a time: x years of showers, followed by y years of running, followed by 30 years of sleep, etc...
Oof. That'd be nasty. Imagine how many years of doing absolutely nothing, or getting chewed up by anxiety/pain/frustration/jealousy/loneliness.
Good way to push you to maximise the joyful/engaged times.

It's funny seeing these "...by the time you're (younger than me)" articles :) Looks like some good advice!
Age is somewhat just a number (especially since you can be biologically younger/older, and there's no guaranteed lifespan for any of us)... but it's a nice marker to push you forward.
Cool article on Dr. Bronner's marketing, thx @Bevan

I found a smaller daypack liberating. I had to focus on what I used every day. Regards the beard, I dislike shaving, so it was an easy choice.
yeah i'm getting sick of having 4 more shirts than I need in a regular laundry load. I could easily downsize to only my two best business shirts and my 3 wool/workout tees.

Life ain't gonna get easier w/ age and I'd rather leap sooner. Overall the my most effective integration for me is #39 designing my ideal day, and #6 regular friend/influence purges. Perhaps also #10 seeking out quiet, and #3/#11 writing down a philosophy and living by it. As for #5 long term relationship and #32 kid, I'm curious... and aware that I don't have any action planned to make them happen. Mistake.
Anyone else who reads this: what parts are most important to you? Do you agree/disagree?

Shame is an interesting phenomenon.
I can't tell if I am experiencing it more or less, over time.
I think on average we could do with less shame about ourselves as vulnerable, needy, mortal people -- and more shame about the lazy (in)actions we take that hurt people, our traditions, and the environment.
Ryan Holiday has a good story about using shame for good: https://ryanholiday.net/questioning/

You climb a hill and then see the mountains ahead. A beard and a smaller backpack could be next.
If I could get $100k on the condition I must spend the next 5 years living only out of a daypack I'd take that offer.
Beard might be a way off. Need to wait out for more testosterone and maybe spend more time around bearded people, you become the average of the 5 humans you most associate with right?

Don't you have any credit card?
I have debit cards. Got locked out of the online interface for topping my Euro/GBP balance up (AirNZOneSmart.co.nz).
The other debit card is in NZD and I use it for online purchases (e.g. SafetyWing.com insurance). That's what I was able to get the GBP for the airport bus out of.

We certainly do. But most of us are not at the extremes for most tendencies, and there is a good range that we can inhabit. I think this too is a balance: finding the mix between self-improvement and self-acceptance.
The good general narrative for that balance seems to be "I am awesome, and I can get better"
Though sometimes the opposite "I am terrible, and I need to get my act together" is even better
Also a mix of avoiding narrative fallacy (https://ryanholiday.net/the-narrative-fallacy/) and creating a clear, coherent story of you and your motivations that you can 'sell' to other people and yourself (i.e. https://www.selfauthoring.com/)

There's too many employees at banks too. That money could be better invested in better systems and customer experience. I know of a woman who got pregnant while working at a bank (customer facing, i.e. filling out paperwork). She stayed there well into her pregnancy because the work was so low effort and chill... positive side, it helped her financially, but negative side, what kind of work is that?
If every employee is doing the same kind of chilled-out paperwork filing... I understand it for a pregnant woman, or anyone with some stress-based disability, but wtf I and many people I know would go crazy in that environment!

Some banks are just rock-bottom. They work really hard at sinking you, so that they can rip your skin off while pulling you out of their dark waters. Modern banking business clearly works against young/working class/entrepreneur/GIG economy people.

I don't think they are malicious, but simply indifferent to people who don't hold enough money to make them the big $$$.
The problem is, that viewpoint is actually irrational. Helping people have freedom with their money and good "customer experience" will prob lead to more voluntary saving, more available investment funds, more fees, etc.
Big openings for disruption!

Can’t spend money because of not having a local billing address or IP or being resident. Charged high fees and poor exchange rate for moving money internationally. Looking forward to these barriers being removed.
Poor exchange rate is a big one... I've easily saved $175 so far with Transferwise. And I'm transferring between two wealthy/economically established currencies (NZD and EUR) and don't spend a ton of money. Can only imagine what it's like for someone with a slightly bigger lifestyle or family. Remittance payments too...

Yeah. No threat of someone beating you up for being racist online, for example.
Successfully made it to Berlin!
