Feeling blue. Scrolled through the peeps and the good vibes already helping. Thank you, peeple
Good morning from the bottom of the planet

Nice cloudy day outside Dublin

On the second though, people were buying TRX and BNB to participate in BTT ICO. Once the ICO was closed, the interest in so much BNB was lost and those who were in just for the trade dumped it. Didn't check out Tron, but that one was also pumping last couple of weeks.
Tron and binance are two of the sketchiest “companies” out there. Avoid!
Happy weekend! Got my node synced in anticipation of Constantinople and going to see what promises to be a gloriously shit sci-fi flick (Replicas)

How do i earn on Peepeth?
You don’t. Just peep. Maybe share a pic or a story. That’s all ☺️
Feeling accomplished. Lots of good people out there, peeple!
Hello peeple! Feeling good, this is all. Carry on :)

Watching the chiefs rams game highlights, I will dare to up one on Brady: NFL today is glorified rugby. They are going the path to one day remove the helmets and the pads. Mark my words on the blockchain. Soon they will.
Love this hot take, never considered this before but can totally see it

Is here non-tech people in Peepeth? (like me)
I’d suspect majority here do not work in tech, but most are fairly tech literate (self included)

Confirmed, I cannot see or reply to this peep
What peep? 😂
5 o’clock somewhere. Happy weekend everyone and Happy Autumn!
Anyone here plan to participate in the Civil token launch? Incredibly ambitious project with an ico that is refreshingly structured to avoid price speculation and encourage use
Back stateside after couple great weeks exploring new places with little internet. Great detox. Time for some discount shopping, summer sales ending soon
Got held up by Kenyan military for taking a picture of their General Assembly. Not even an interesting pic, but you asked to be put on the blockchain

Nairobi! Let’s go exploring...
The irony of a potential steemit competitor on eos that is not yet built being shilled on a dApp built on ethereum... Love Medellin though 😜

I think you meant malka older, and I think it is interesting but wholly pie in the sky and destructive to individual rights, freedoms and responsibilities in action. cheers
I disagree on all fronts (apart from the autocorrect fail on Malka’s last name), but to each their own. Cheers.

@CallMeGwei @Skyler so in a borderless world, aka, global state, how is the rule of law enforced, individual rights guaranteed and how is it all paid for?
Borderless microdemocracies that people self select into. Malka Order (author of two books I mentioned) has written a fair amount about concept, but very nascent. Blockchain and crypto would be the enabling technology.

Citizenship might one day be a philosophical camp you join rather than a state you're claimed by. Let's hope for that. Let's not stop with currencies and world computers.
100%. Highly recommend the books Infomacracy and Null States for anyone interested in similar concepts of how the state might evolve in the future

Is there any public aggregated data on how much this is costing? Would be cool to compare it to the traditional server/management costs
You could pull the info fairly easily from the peepeth contract in etherscan

Finally got peepeth working on mobile with Coinbase wallet. Good stuff, but makes me pine for Status. Hope to start peeping more. Now off to support the Kickstarter (funny how we’ve come
full circle with fundraising :))
Anyone going to be in Zug next Friday for the techcrunch conference? Would love to meet up with anyone that may be there :D

We have too many Crypto Platforms to develop Dapps which one do you think will sustain on long run... many will wither away as time passes by
Ethereum is the only real platform to date, everything else just [very loud] noise. It's easy to underestimate power of network effects when looking at the "competition" - Ethereum's moat is deep and wide.

After I post, my message is live (but not yet on the blockchain). Where is this messaged stored? in Peepeth database? Is it correct to think that Peepeth is using a traditional db for performance optimization followed as quickly as possible by blockchain post for immutability?
Peepeth uses IPFS to store data. Saving to the Ethereum chain is optional, need scaling solutions for this to be more appealing. I am hoping that Peepeth switches to a dAppChain once the Loom Network sdk is released :D

We just got into ethergoo. ;)
Ethergoo is surprisingly fun, perfect passive activity while watching the NBA playoffs
Beautiful start to the weekend in the east coast. NBA playoffs tonight, gorgeous day on deck for tomorrow, and crypto scattered throughout for good measure. Let's go!
Being able to pay a premium to show up faster is a sneaky killer feature (to an extent..)
This was a great conference

Of course. I believe there is a certain prime point on the graph of utility vs demand where introducing scaling will be the most beneficial.
Try to forecast it out now! Once we have the benefit of hindsight, I suspect it will all become obvious. But a fascinating equilibrium to think about today

High fees may signal high demand, but they are more so a blatant show of weakness in the technology. IMO, they decrease the utility of the platform and hurt demand. Ethereum's gotta scale at a certain point if we want adoption to boost.
Agree 100%. But given trilemma of affordability, security, and scalability, I am willing to sacrifice affordability first. Scaling is coming, but scale without demand is meaningless
Replying to @Lion (0x3833d757b8bc418bcec546ced8f444bf7bdfec33)
Are the actual transaction fees going up or are you just referring to the price of ether going up? (and therefore the transaction fees cost more)
I look at average transaction fees as measured in gwei, as a measure of demand for Ethereum network. I do not want high fees to become standard, but I do want people to use Ethereum beyond speculation and for pressure to remain on developers to implement scaling solutions
I know this isn't good, but I am secretly kind of glad the transaction fees are slowly going up :D

Thank you for that, @james. I was considering the implications of these developments. If a sidechain dApp is not quite as secure - could it be "secure enough"? I have no idea... I suppose it depends primarily on the cost differential? Tell us more!
Very good point by @james. Loom says dAppchains built on their platform can choose their consensus mechanism but have provided little public detail on how this works in practice. I am definitely curious to learn more.

Fantastic book! Gotta try to understand humanity's roots to best anticipate where things are headed. Money (debt), in my opinion, is the ultimate human construct that truly underpins our evolution :)

I spent much of today plotting a trip to Iceland with some friends. Should be great but really hard to make decisions. Everything looks cool but all in a very similar way. "Yes, that does seem like an awesome vista of sky, rocks and water. Sure?"
Did a weekend camping trip in NW Iceland in 2016, highly recommend. We camped out in total isolation under a glacier for three days and no planning involved - rented equipment and car in Reykjavik, picked a spot on the map, and went :D
