According to the peepeth ordering I was first (though there has been ordering issues on the client previously).
I don't doubt you were first to hit submit! I need to type faster. lol

Cool thanks for the info! I’m working on a mobile wallet for dapps (eth and btc chain) so I’ll be back soon :)
You're in good company here! @vikmeup @sid @pete share your interest. Keep us all in the loop!
And thank you for that tip.

Wonderful @409h - anything to combat bad actors in the space is good for everyone.

Cool got the idea ! I’m not in favor of sensorship or control. But I’m wondering what is the contengency plan when people start posting really undesirable thing ?
The front end can be censored - and each front-end will have to deal with that issue as it sees fit. Peepeth *will* censor hateful or illegal peeps, but they will persist on-chain.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
No, that is not the only value. The other value is that other frontends can be developed using the same backend data. Your data isn't held hostage by Peepeth. @Bevan is the creator. I'm just a blockchain enthusiasts with a website - and I love what this is all about.
There are a bunch of additional benefits - chief among them being decentralizing the power structures that are currently taking over the social media space.

So the main and only value to store it onchain is the non censorability ? Are you the creator ?

Messages are both stores on and offchain ?
They are off-chain until you commit them to the chain. Which is required every fifteen actions on Peepeth.

Triple entry accounting ftw! BAC - and other LFIs - have filed tons of blockchain patents. You can find them searching through the uspto patent database. Been wanting to do a deep dive on this for a while...
I'm not sure I generally like the word "patent" alongside the word "blockchain," but I can see how this is good news if I wander outside of the utopia I have in my mind...
Gonna be interesting to see what happens if a patent is infringed by a public chain - what's the recourse?

First peep. I wonder whether I'll look back on this in 5 years time as the moment at which it all began...
Welcome @Daniel - things have been percolating in the space for years, but Peepeth has done a lot of things right. I think it has a very good chance of being remembered as the "start" of blockchain social media for the Peeple!
Yeah, so don't respond to that last peep please. Whitespace needs to be consolidated on display. @bevan

Hey Gwei I spent some time looking through your resources. Great stuff man, thanks! Do you . have a Telegram we can have a chat on? I think you may be interested in what I'm working on.
You can find me on Toshi, which uses the signal protocol for chatting. Feel free to reach out - I always love to hear about projects in the space.

Milk, cheese, steak is all pretty much the same to me. Wanted to take a load of photos today.
Hmmm. I had a milk cow and it lived the best possible life I think a cow could live. Unlimited food, lots of petting, tons of treats... I'll have to dig up a picture some day.
Is it just me or does @abcoathup have a seemingly chill life?
Glad he's sharing it with the world.

Not me. I like him doing coding experiments and hanging out on Peepeth. I feel like party boats might distract him...

Wow, this is amazing. Looking forward to learning more about crypto economic systems like this. Any experts or enthusiasts around?
I'm expertly enthusiastic!
I spend approx 90% of my waking hours steeping in the blockchain space. And the other 9% thinking about what to write about in the space.

Not a fan that I have to give Etherbots my email to sign up, but hey I gave peepeth my email to get into the beta.
I'm not a gamer by any means... but I found their dev team really passionate. Spent a lot of time brainstorming with and talking to them. Wrote about it a few months ago:

I complained about that too when the devs were still in pre-launch. They said it wasn't used for anything essential and could be anything you wanted (ie, fake). If you used your true email address you could get notifications about battles, etc.

Bahahaha.. Totally not a whale. :p I got lucky enough to have people throw a fair amount of ETH at me for #DEEZ. I am taking it upon myself to redistribute those misplaced monies onto those who are actually bringing tangible, positive changes to the cryptosphere and the world. ;)
I have this mental list of people whom I'd like to shake hands with.
You just got added.
Doesn't sound to me like the monies were misplaced at all.

What are some the best Dapps you have seen? Other than https://www.stateofthedapps.com/ where do you find new Dapps?
The mobile web3 browsers/wallets are doing a good job of showcasing dApps...
Peepeth is probably the best - sincerely. Etherbots is being developed passionately. I have a list about 100 dApps long that I've been asked to write about... I should have a better answer for you.

Does a anyone know where I can study Peepeth source code? Eager to learn more about it if available.
It's proprietary.
Ok, no it isn't... but there are certain things (everything) @Bevan is still working on before releasing publicly. You might get lucky and get an answer from him directly, since he just showed up to peep.

Thanks for the question Gwei! It's got to be the people. The friendships I've made here (both w/ Chinese and non-Chinese) are very special. It's different than making friends at home in the US, via work or neighborhood or going to the bar, etc. We share a unique experience. #lvoe
Oh? Not gonna lie - I was expecting the answer to be the food. Thanks for reminding us all that people are more important than food. ;-)
Speaking of unique experiences and friendly relationships - we early Peepers have that too! (Only... you know... on the internet...)

Yes, so that people can tip semi-privately (although it's all visible on the blockchain of course). @callmegwei
Thank you for clarifying @bob and @bevan!
I'll have to do an unofficial FAQ for Peepeth like I did for Leeroy... or maybe even an official one if Bevan would have it. ;-)
Please, take my ensō... I've been waiting until it was reset to give it for this peep.

Could just become similar to a blogging site where you have to pay to get access to the rest of the blog... which isn't a bad model but not sure that's what Peepeth wants to be. Really depends how this is implemented though.
Also... if people are paying for access to the rest of the Peeps too frequently, someone will just write a free reader. (Actually, they can already use @James' reader.)

Hey all, just pushed some small fixes. Peep links work better. Embeds are now https only (no more SSL warnings). Double-posting issue is fixed. Accent issue should also be resolved.
I see that his was tipped, but who tipped isn't clear... no grey box explanation thingy...

Since the truncation is done on the frontend, Peepeth doesn't have to go there... but other front ends might. I was thinking earlier that the most successful frontend might end up being the most modular/flexible one. Then again... lots of people don't like too many choices...
@Bevan, if you have some peep time... can you tell us a little about your header image? For a guy that has all of our attention an support... there is no about Bevan page...
Replying to @jm9k (0xa7bd09daab3eb5ec96f04914d94c47681489d604)
I'm sure IPFS isn't imposing the 280 char limit, but right now the front end is truncating past 280 characters. Continuing to impose these arbitrary limits now that we are in a post SMS base era just seems counterproductive.
I think purchasing to post (or to read) longer peeps would be an interesting experiment.
