I am nearly speechless. https://sevvie.ltd/essays/asia-argento-blames-anthony-bourdain-payoff/
Blaming "Fancy Bear" or "Strontium" for the information security weaknesses throughout the country does nothing to protect democracy. We must keep ourselves informed, educated. https://sevvie.ltd/infosec/strontium-not-threat-democracy-ignorance-is/

Ciao all! So, question about the "Lock now" button. Left unchecked, it lets you post but not saved on blockchain... so, how many can you post before you gotta pay the piper? And what if you never opt to?!
Bonjour! Currently, you can post 15 peeps before needing to sign your posts. With regards to "paying the piper", you will not be paying for every peep; from what I've seen, you only pay for every 15th peep until you reach 50 peeps, at which time you pay once after logging in.

See how that works @ChiliMac - then people can choose to see what we're engaging about or not. Thoughts on that implementation?
Two thoughts:
1. There might should be an option to disable the hiding of peeps.
2. In the modal thread-view, it should remember the open-closed state of the peep clicked, to prevent opening an entire thread of closed peeps, which one had already opened.

Hey Peepeth, we're looking for feedback for our secure mobile wallet system called AirGap. The two device, two app approach we're talking allows you to store your private keys securely on an air gapped Android device. You can find the links here https://airgap.it/#download
I like this idea. Unfortunately I don't have an old phone to use to set up a vault at the moment. My roommate might; I'll have to ask him when he wakes up and test it out!

OK! Got Toshi... errr... Coinbase Wallet set up and funded some. Peepeth is fairly functional in it so I’ll give that a go. Thanks to those who responded. 🥂
I think many of us will continue to think of it as Toshi, even if Coinbase felt the need to pour their branding over it.

Luckily, the devs will develop either way. The educators will educate just the same. The community will grow, regardless. The world will change, inevitably.
This is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the open source world; because the passion to create is its own incentive, we will see growth and evolution one way or another.

I love to refresh PeepEth to see the hidden hashtags in the background :p #temperance #trascendence #curiosity #perspective
Those little tags are very inspirational to me. Many are words I hold dear and try to implement in my life, and seeing them acts as a gentle reminder.
I found another beautiful example of how financial blockchains work. It's a visualization which lets you create transactions and blocks, and mine those blocks onto the chain, as well as demonstrates how transactions existing on a fork are resolved. https://blockchain.nambrot.com
@pluma I added the words "seem to have" to the text. It differs from the video essay, now, but the video cannot be updated without dedicating this computer to hours of re-rendering and little else -- time I do not have.

Awesomeness. This is absolutely a feature which needs to be adopted for the future of social networking. The ability engage beyond the limits of one's social media silo would be game-changing.
Erp. I meant to attach this.

all in all it's your piece. i'm just sharing my reaction to it, specifically with what i don't find agreeable. overall, as i said, i do agree with it, and with that last point you've made as well. but i'm afraid this will just continue in a circle, needlessly, so i'll end here.
Aye. Thank you for the praise, and the criticism.

I had a strange conversation today, and I would like to know more, if you're kind enough to share your experience: are you a "laughing out loud" or a "chuckle" type? If it's the first - can you lol while reading or watching something while alone, or it's more of a social moment?
There are moments when I "laugh out loud," though they're infrequent. Admittedly, I'm embarrassed by my laugh, though only after the endorphins have faded. I "lol" far more often by my lonesome when reading or watching a video, than I do in a social environment.

it's the wording you've chosen that i'm taking issue with. neither of us knows for an absolute fact that her actions contributed. if you threw in a "seemingly" before "contributed", it would sound loads better than how it does as it's currently written.
Please go back and read the paragraphs surrounding it. I am not addressing her contributions to his suicide without reason; if the tables had been turned, Bourdain would have been scrutinized endlessly for cheating and making public mockery of it on Instagram.
Replying to @pluma (0xd9fb1d684627a890347a4f6a7fe32e993617b6d8)
but in calling her out for misappropriating the movement, let’s not jump to conclusions about who is to blame for bourdain’s passing. unless it can be proved in a court of law that he was coerced by her, we should choose our words about that opinion carefully. 3
That's not what I said. Now you're misrepresenting me. I said that her actions contributed to his suicide.

i agree with most of what you've written here. #metoo is not, and cannot be, one-sided. however, i take issue with the fact that you strongly assert that she had anything to do with anthony bourdain's suicide. publishing such an assumption is dangerous and irresponsible.
I'm not saying she caused his death entirely. But I am certainly not the first to address the topic. https://penthouse.com/pages/asia-argento/Toxic-Femininity.php
The sheer hypocrisy of Asia Argento... She has done to a young man, when he was 17 years old, what she accused Weinstein of doing to her -- and she is silencing him from speaking out as she promotes #MeToo. https://sevvie.ltd/video-essays/metoo-not-theetoo-asia-argento-hypocrisy/

Hey, I'm enjoying this #ThinkingOutLoud stuff. I can see the gears turning.
If it helps others better understand this obscure black magic known as non-financial blockchains, then I'm glad to think aloud.
Besides. Peep makes a great rubber duck.

An example of this: the genesis block could be imagined as an Object (in JS parlance) representing birth certificate data. But this would be the only block in the chain which fits this model. Every block following would be a doctor's report containing very different data.
So what do you do, you might ask?
Enumerate possible data structures as types, and in creating the Genesis block, pass in the possibilities ahead-of-time is one option. But this fixes the possibilities at genesis; an update to possible types would require re-genesis mid-chain.

Designing an abstract blockchain factory can be very frustrating, when you want that factory implemented in both statically-typed and untyped languages. Medical data that would go on a chain is flexible. So the Merkle Tree for a generated chain needs to be very careful.

Hello everyone, My very 1st Peep. A poverty stricken senior. Not a genius like Mr. Buterin but awake at least. If you ever like one of my Peeps, please feel free to make a small donation. It could make life more interesting, then I'll really have something to Peep about.
Welcome to Peepeth, Mr. Heinrichs! I wish I were in a position to make a small donation, but I too find myself stricken with poverty; I write both essays and software freely, asking only donations. But if I find myself able, I will gladly place a tip. <3
@bevan A question about your Kickstarter rewards: are message length rewards only accessible through the crowdfunding campaign? Most of the rewards make sense, but a privilege which allows someone to speak with more detail seems odd.
Reforestation of Borneo orangutan habitats has only barely begun at this point; approximately 10,000 saplings are being nursed by two organizations at this point, but it could be decades before these saplings can provide habitation for the orangutan driven inland.

Your artist is amazing; the shading and depth makes the art jump off your skin in a beautiful way.
Thank you for sharing <3

Though, knowing myself, "reading" will quickly turn into having a book open, working on a program, and leaving a video playing in the background. >.>

The Wikipedia page you've linked cites two cases which found in Trump's favour, multiple statements in which his remarks have been taken out of context to imply racism, and statements of statistical fact which have been labeled racism.
Besides. A front-end could be made.
