I'll give you an example. If you state the fact that while men make up 93% of the top 1% in society they also make up 95% of the bottom 1% in society, you will be branded a sexist or worse. People think facts have opinions. They reject facts that don't agree with them.
That's mainly because people who are socially minded rather than rationally focused look at a fact as a motivation. "Why am I being presented a fact and how can I use this fact to my social advantage?" If the fact is disadvantageous they disregard it as not important or fight it.

I'm also a book juggler. I sometimes think I'd get more benefit out of reading just one (non-fiction) book really well, and earnestly implementing its suggestions, than more hastily reading several on the same subject which is what I tend to do.
I spend more time on my computer than my books at this point. I used to be such a worm too.With non-fiction I'll study a subject in a book and go down a rabbit hole of looking up related information on the internet instead of finishing the book when it will probably be explained.

Too many started but not enough finished. The ones I'm working on right now are Nihongo Fun & Easy and CS Lewis's The Space Trilogy.
I'm quickly approaching more followers on peepeth than I have on twitter and I've been on twitter much longer. 10 more to tie.

The best thing about biological weapons is that they work much better than non biological weapons at low temperatures.
I don't know about the cold man. The biological weapons I call my arms tend to shiver when it's lower than 30 degrees.

It's that time of the year when my belt becomes so tight it cuts off all the blood to my legs and brain. More importantly, for a man, it cuts off the circulation to my favorite organ in the nethers. When that happens there's no reason to live.
Do you wear a belt each on your waist and neck? Seems like overkill to hold your shirt up.

The most valuable experiences of 2018 for me were trying new things. New workouts, new books, new friends. So trying new things is one of my main resolution for 2019. What are yours?
I'm 7 pounds from a normal BMI and probably have a little weight to lose after that so I'm going to continue dieting. Lost 52 pounds overall. I'm going to continue learning Japanese and practicing. Just bought a new book this morning on conversational Japanese and am excited.

It's just not credible. IMHO map makers and cartographers just got bored one day, because they'd run out of places to map. So they just started making stuff up. This looks suspiciously like Middle Earth to me. That's plagiarism in my book. Then they invented space.
It's just like Rhode Island. It's not an island and there are no rhodes. It's a fictional place to take up the moniker of America's smallest state when in actuality it doesn't exist.

This tiny rescue kitten is staying with us for the next week. She is covered in fleas. She's probably going to need a second flea bath. #catsofpeepeth
Poor thing. Make sure to pick the fleas by the bridge of her nose as that's where they'll hang out after the flea dip.

I think this is a case of correlation and not causation. Sick children tend to be homeschooled more often. Healthy children who are homeschooled tend to be for religious reasons. Religious people don't trust science as much and tend not to get vaccinated.

Peeping makes me more often make a pause and think what did I just say, so: "The word "sarcasm" comes from the Greek σαρκασμός (sarkasmós) which is taken from σαρκάζειν (sarkázein) meaning "to tear flesh, bite the lip in rage, sneer"." Hmm..
I have a habit of biting my lip not in rage though. So I'm half sarcastic most of the time.
