If there was a web browser that can break all international firewalls and establish net neutrality, would u use it more than chrome?
Someone said TOR? :)

Agreed! Slower charge, more wastage. To me it makes no sense. However I'm sure other people love the idea and I'm certain they have valid use cases. But personally it's not really my cup of tea... Give me a cable and fast charging anyday!
Totally the same for me. I will switch to wireless charging only when energy waste will be negligible (as it is right now on cables).
Am I the only one thinking that #wireless charging is a waste of energy? I really don’t like how inefficient is this technology right now. 🌍 ♻️

I use it, but it's not always on. When I'm traveling I sometimes have trouble accessing sites, then I flip it on. Packet sniffing while using a VPN is a little more labor intensive (at least on android, where I usually use a *fake* VPN to packet sniff). Therefor: haven't done it.
Got it. You can use dnsleak.com for dns leaking test
Do you use #ProtonVPN (or any other) on your mobile? What do you use it for? Do you keep it always on? Have you checked if DNS requests are not leaking out of your VPN?

Nope. That's just my CallMeGwei site! For my blockchain identity and writing. The original goal was to ramp up and do it full-time, but it's tough. I'm still trying to figure out where/how, exactly, that blog fits in to my life... but I probably won't be able to do it full-time.
I see. Monetize from blog is not that easy nowdays.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
Also, I don't monetize my **personal** blog either!
So that one is not your personal one?
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
Not monetizing something you intend(ed) to do full-time is a luxury. One that I don't share, unfortunately. That said... I actually don't use google analytics anymore on any of my sites. I use WP-Statistics or other server-side packages. Hunting down that call right now!
Yeah, I have to say my personal blog is not my source of income. Maybe it's not the same for you so I can understand.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
I had removed google ads and amazon ads altogether sometime last year... then I quit writing. Without some way to monetize your work, you start to feel it's not valuable. There haven't been legit alternatives. I am excited to test out the Brave ads that are in the pipeline.
Actually, I don't monetize my personal blog (live since 2003). My thoughts have value themselves, I don't need someonelse money to get satisfaction. For sure I don't want to sell the privacy of my readers for two... gwei. :-)
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
I'd would also like to say that I had to go through quite a bit of work at that time to remove the gravatar integration baked into WordPress and to keep the "share" buttons from phoning home. I imagine many content publishers want to jump ship - but not out into the ocean!
Avoid all of them it's not that difficult (I did it). You can, as example, embed the fonts on your website instead of calling Google Fonts service. Instead of Google Analytics, I does suggest #Matomo.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
The Brave browser will also block them by default! (And, yes, it's disturbing how pervasive they are.) https://www.callmegwei.com/2018/01/18/internet-user-be-brave/
Nice post, but your site uses Google Fonts, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Amazon Ads and so on. Be #Brave yourself: remove all of them! :-)
Pro-privacy tip: using Cookie AutoDelete on your browser (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cookie+autodelete) will help you discover how many sites does embed Google/Facebook cookies on their pages. It's amazing how pervasive on the web is their presence. #privacy #privacyMatters

What's your plan for the future? Good luck!

I think it depends on what you call privacy and the scope of your quest to retain it. To me, privacy is about withholding information that can be used to adversely impact me (mentally and physically). I see it as a mixture of being aware, deliberate and safe.
As long as they have those information, they can use them to do what you are saying.

Thanks for bringing this up. Peepeth data is public, so it's up for grabs. Peepeth should educate people more about what that means.
I am not optimistic on it unfortunately.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
I'd never have known! Is that your real profile picture? 🤔 I'm all about privacy myself. So are many in the space. Eventually, we will likely have both... (and it will be amazing!) Until then, dismantling data monopolies is probably more important for the state of the world.
For sure but as long as they have an easy way to analyze, collect and monetize data the tecno-control is not destroyed. We are both fighting the same war.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
True! But *you* can too, without having to ask anyone anything! The goal here (posting everything to a public blockchain) isn't to (necessarily) gain more privacy (you can be anon)... it's to democratize data and network effects that are currently being used to distort reality.
Yes, I understood and appreciate it but I am interested in systems that protect citizen’s #privacy too.
Having both would be amazing.
Replying to @CallMeGwei (0x285bc660aa42b8effc6c60357cd4d8ca072be625)
They won't be able to sell the data, it's free! There is no data monopoly. They could sell their analysis of the data, but only the data you knew would be public. They haven't infringed on your privacy. Not to mention you never have to link your identity to your off-chain self.
Well they can actually monetize on my usage without having to ask me anything.
Replying to @abcoathup (0x13ebd3443fa5575f0eb173e323d8419f7452cfb1)
All peeps are public and can be accessed by anyone, now and in the future. Knowing this upfront should change how people peep. I definitely self censor. But you could analyse my sleep patterns from my peeps.
Yes, I was thinking of it. Since the database is public and data are not encrypted, it’s pretty easy for 3rd parties to analyze the network and each user habits.
How can #Peepeth avoid 3rd parties to study (and sell) usage of the network? Public data on #blockchain are subject to this kind of things unfortunately.

How can anyone be sure? Closed-source "privacy" isn't privacy... it's just a promise.
That is not perfect for sure. At least the privacy policy for their software products is better than Android one.

5. No delete. Hmm, I am keen for hide and update (add versioning to give similar functionality to delete and edit). I think not having a delete means that typos, formatting issues, pasting errors and truncation errors pollute the feed.
Interesting. Will follow up. Something #GDPR compliant would be interesting.
