While hate speech and inappropriate content can be be removed from the front end of Peepeth, If saved to the blockchain, wouldn't that make it permanent and viewable - forever? #thoughts
There is no delete.
Though I suspect clients would end up with some shared list of what content has been marked as hidden or flagged.

Scan for tokens uses a list rather than finding any token a user owns.
Just means when creating a token, need to add to each wallets list of tokens to get them to appear automagically.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Scan for tokens will find any token that is part of our default token list. Token creators have to submit their token via GitHub pull request if they want it on the default list.

That'd work. Any idea how to do that? I recall needing a non-zero balance to save a new account too, so that'd have to be changed. Need to make all fees optional, and have a checkbox in profile for donation. If the Peep faucet runs out, the peeps stop flowing until people donate.
#Toshi as part of the onboarding users can request a small amount of Eth. That should be enough to join as a user on peepeth and then peep a request and someone can tip $1 which would keep someone in peeps for a week.

WiFi isn't free, but I have an open network that anyone can use without notifying or paying me. It would be nice if more blockchain tech was like that. Could I theoretically run a zero-gas Ethereum node or something? I (and others) will pay for the system so that it can be free.
Simpler is to fund a faucet for people to self serve or people could peep requesting Ether.

Assuming you ran nodes including transactions with zero gas price, you would need a lot of hashing power to mine blocks frequently enough.

Yes, and also there's a mute/unmute feature for the main feed. Available from the Peep menu (click ellipsis). Unmute from the tab in your account settings. @morgan

Great time to launch @Peepeth. During times of a market trough, the Blockchain enthusiasts / tinkerers are still building the future societal shifts. Feature: When a pour of irrational / dopamine seeking "when-peepeth-ICO?" type join, how can I filter/curate?
Choose who you follow, then just look at friends.

Full disclosure: this new, exciting future isn't 100% free, which irks me. A post on Peepeth costs about one penny, can take a couple hours to propagate, and can't be deleted. I feel like blockchain isn't quite the right solution for a Twitter clone, but it's still better...
Blockchains cost money to run so someone has to pay. Blockchain transaction fees for batched peeps are pretty low at the moment.

Disagree. I can't even access the About page. There is a note for percentage taken from a tip is available at the time of tipping, but is hidden. @bevan obviously thinks the note is important. I'm worried that it is hidden by default. Skeptical part of me wants to call it sly...
To get to the about page, click on your profile pic and you get a menu.
I thought the monetisation of percentage of tips and verification was clear. Though appears may need to be even more so.

1. No more tipping until Peepeth.com is upfront and clear that it takes a 10% cut of the tip. It shouldn't be a hidden note. 2. Why are only integer tips allowed?

This is all very true - and some may wonder... well, how is this any /better/ than FB et al. Other platforms provide a false sense of security - some even demand your "real name". On Peepeth you can *choose* to use your real name or not and you are forewarned everything is open.
Constantly having to think that this peep is public and accessible by anyone.
You are tying an identity real or created to an Ethereum address where transactions are public.
There are no secrets.
