So like... use the restore words I got when I saved Metamask in the beginning? I thought those were like words of last resort?
Your 12 word seed phrase is your username/password/identity all rolled into one.
You can import into multiple apps but triple check the app against multiple sources to make sure it is what you think it is.

New is currently an unfiltered stream. I can see a point where peepers could apply their own filters based on either a reputation score or individual items of a score. More power to the individual peeper.

They should be limited to charitable badges, if anything and probably comprise only a small part of the score. Spending money with (verifiable) third parties seems like a bad proxy for authenticity at first glance - but spammers cannot afford to do this en masse. May make sense.
Just one aspect of reputation. Most aspects can be gamed.
Though time and monetary value aspects should reduce scams/harassment.

Just to be clear, I'm just concerned about the idea of the mosquito badge affecting the reputation of a peeper. I don't have an issue with the badge existing.
To me it increases a peepers reputation but there are multiple reasons why you might not want the badge.
Reputation should be a combination of items.

Trying to see how long a dollar lasts me for the amount of activity I have. So far, it's going well.

Not sure that the mosquito badge should be used. It seems effective for filtering out spam but its also directly incentivizing people to pay up. People will feel pressured to buy every badge and we don't know what future paid badges could pop up.
Just my thoughts on a peepers reputation, each item not in isolation.
I like the mosquito badge. Others may not want to create those types of links to identities (email, fiat payment). Others may not want to support this particular charity.

Tips also play a decent role, but obviously isn't a complete solution. It can take me a while to burn up a dollar here but one decent tip would keep me going. I imagine those Tweeting more would also net more tips.

Is there any way that your Paypal info or info associated with your Paypal account could be associated with your ethereum address if you donate to this while they don't have a crypto option?
You are creating associations. You are linking an Ethereum address (which you are creating an identity too) to a fiat donation (using PayPal or credit card) publicly and privately linking to email.

I don't love the idea of basing reputation on verification on Twitter. I'm here to get away from that.
More ways to verify will come.
I can understand not wanting to verify on twitter. If you are a brand or have a twitter reputation though then twitter verification helps with your peep reputation.
There are lots of ways to build a peep reputation.

Yep. I guess my argument is that a blockchain isn't really required to solve the part I care about (reducing spam), and is actively harmful in other things I care about (some of which I have written about at great length - https://bit.ly/2JLtzBG )
I think clients can do a lot.
Going by your assumptions, a large percentage of abuse could be detected very early.
I could see myself ignoring those who don’t have multiple verifications.

People tend to overestimate the ability to "delete" things on the internet we currently have. Screenshots, snapshots, archives- I know efforts are being made to be able to "forget" - but how feasible is that? The social media we currently have give a false sense of security, imo
I can see verification becoming more and more important. The more verifications someone has the more trustworthy they appear.
Currently Peepeth has twitter and the mosquito badge (plus an optional third - email for invite).

The fact that 'peeping' costs tiny amounts of real money makes large-scale spamming unlikely - or at least expensive. Downside: Having an immutable social network seems like a terrible idea. Illegal content and harassment that can't be erased seems like a bad idea. #Peepeth
A bad actor can’t delete their peeps, it is there on the permanent record.
Clients can hide content.

This has come up many times, most probably because it is a very legitimate concern. The blockchain is uncensorable, but the individual front-ends are free to censor content. Individual communities can curate the content. Most communities will censor things illegal or hateful.
Currently on peepeth you can flag individual peeps and mute individual peepers.
