There is a "mutes" list in settings. Can you do it there?
Shit... am I the muted one?

Shit. I muted someone because I was curious and now I can't figure out how to unmute them. Plz send halp. 😩

Well, technically speaking, if having/mining/exchanging cryptocurrency were made illegal... that would be a true statement. Such is the slippery slope of criminality. It can simply mean, and often does mean, whatever ideas/activities those in power do not agree with.
It is amazing to me how a lot of people blindly equate legality to morality. I hope enough see past it.

LEGAL CRIMES ARE EVEN WORSE THAN ILLEGAL ONES!!!
And so with each confirmation of the bitcoin transaction, a tear was shed by the eyes of God.

Don't forget all crypto is good for is buying illegal drugs!
So I can't use crypto for legal crimes?

The Ripple platform has utility for banks/organizations. But the ripple currency isn't an integral part of that. You don't have to use it. I am more interested in other projects in the space.
To expand on that a bit, Ripple doesn't share the fundementals of crypto/blockchain that I am interested in. I'm interested in decentralized solutions.

What do peepers think about Ripple? Not in a speculative sense but their products.

605 users so far! 1,000 is right around the corner. Exciting time for this community.
Trying to get friends on board. It can be hard with the idea of network fees, mostly because they don't have ether or a mobile ethereum browser/wallet.
Some interesting news regarding Cipher, Coinbase, and Toshi: https://twitter.com/CipherBrowser/status/984827995603939330?s=19
As a Toshi user, I'm excited. From an economic point of view, the Coinbase whale gets bigger. Would love to see more competitive Coinbase competitors.

To be fair, Bookstack current solution only involve blockchain to timestamp hashes of uploaded data, not execution or storage.
Typo on the blockchain, no takesy backsies.

Yes exactly, plus the fact that they currently use Bitcoin for their virtualchain solution.
I don't understand a whole lot about the solution at the moment, but that fact did concern me. I really gotta research it.

I've read the Bookstack white paper and i'm not really fan of the permissioned design. In Blockstack, the devs are still in control of the data, not in Peepeth which use ethereum's trustless blockchain.
I'll have to take a look at it for myself.
DO NOT undermine the state apparatus.

On Blocksatck your data is encrypted on your personal cloud & the apps are single page applications w/out servers. When I load my data into an app, it stays on my device unless the app phones home with it, which can be detected and blocked w/ content security policies.
What about hybrid applications that require the use of a server as well?
Replying to @jdanielricher (0xd408af374b94a80510a93246cd4cd104a5fad132)
Sure but Blockstack has its own protocol. They are building a new internet where users own their data. I don't see an Ethereum equivalent to that, do you? https://blockstack.org/
How exactly do you own your information? With Peepeth, I give away the info that I want to without requiring an email address or anything else, but at the end of the day everything I peep is saved on a public blockchain. Same with many other dapps.

You're on decentralized Twitter where all you need is an ethereum address. Same with many other ethereum dapps.
Not saying this isn't interesting though.

This is my Blockstack ID that I purchased for 0.001 BTC. With it, I am able to visit every app built on the new decentralized web without using a single password. This is the future folks, don't miss out. A decentralized twitter is in the works.

Doesn't work a whole lot verbally, but definitely works in text. On the other hand, "peepers" doesn't work a whole lot verbally either.
Replied to the wrong peep but it's on the blockchain no takesy backsies.

I don't agree with these "pump and dump" schemes at all, but people losing money cannot put the blame on others. If people thoughtfully invested and did their own due-diligence, then the success of those P&D orchestrations would be severely diminished. Education before regulation
I've seen people blame the market and claim that "DYOR" doesn't work.
Pretty sure they just didn't do it right.
If you're name is Tom and you use Peepeth, you're a peeping tom.

(pt 3) There was a pretty good report and re-cap on crypto and the pumping and dumping schemes on an episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. It's probably the first and only time I've seen the mainstream media accurately reflect what has been happening in this market
Watched that too. In an unregulated market, that is sure to happen. It affects the market so much more when the market is volatile and small.

Based on this story, your teacher would have been right. This man's story is remarkable because of how rare his level of motivation is.
This story isn't an everyday occurrence. But I do think that economic incentive is enough to get roads built. Whether business/communities decide that they need access to each other or a property developer realizes people like to live near roads. The market has done harder things

"Dashrath Manjhi wanted his people to have access to doctors, jobs, education, and opportunities. Armed with only a hammer, chisel, and crowbar, he carved a road through the 300-foot mountain that isolated his village from the nearest town." https://youtu.be/xAVUDKw4AIk
But my high school economics teacher said that without taxes we would not have roads and that the fabric of society would tear like an angry kid with a napkin.
