Another work-related question: what tools do you use to manage your projects? (not necessarily coding related)

What if everything is as it could be and was as it should be?

I don't know, but some would argue both are already true!

Welcome to Peepeth :)

What are you coming from? I like VSCode for speed. The ability to share a live coding session cross-platform is also really nice. When I'm doing python stuff, I seem to prefer PyCharm. Actually, Jetbrains stuff in general is good - just a lot heavier. [I have been thinking of trying some solidity development in one of their tools...] For a long time I was doing most of my web work in Notepad++ ... can't say that I miss it though.

Cool, sharing coding sessions sounds like a great feature. I'll try VSCode next.

I'm coming from TextMate 2, which I use for Ruby. I like it but it has pretty limited functionality compared to some of the newer editors.

Atom is nice so far but I'm still used to my old shortcuts, colors, etc...

+1 for Notepad. I had those days too!

I most often work with a combination of VSCode and SublimeText.

Cool. I haven't tried VSCode but I use Sublime too.

@bevan @bevanbarton A suggestion for Peepeth. When visiting from a profile/post, consider it as referral.

Nice idea.

BTW, I believe the referral code can currently be appended to any Peepeth link. Will double-check.

Oh, ok, I'll try again. I am a certified Instagram noob :)

Trying to imagine how dApps like this could migrate to being fully decentralized. Perhaps if signing actions could also include a pinning fee, which could use something like filecoin to pay for IPFS hosting automagically. Of course, the infrastructure isn't ready yet.

That would be very cool. Hopefully at that point ETH ownership would be more widespread.

The landing page and functionality has gone through several iterations. In many cases you don't know if a change is good until you launch it, but sometimes it's clear you're making a directional improvement.

Is there a Peepeth dev roadmap published anywhere? As much as I love this platform, it's not truly decentralized as long as the core content is hosted on Peepeth's IPFS servers. Would love to know if there are any plans to use Swarm or Filecoin?

Currently fulfilling the crowdfunding rewards, then launching facelifted Peepeth 2. No claim to full decentralization, but data is pinned on Infura and by whoever wishes to pin it.

Scary stuff! On a more optimistic note, Steven Pinker's latest book makes a case (although I haven't finished it) that we're on a very positive trajectory in terms of peace and many things that seem to cause it (education, wealth). Spiritual teachers speak of a parallel increase in "consciousness". Could it be that we're evolving? Fingers crossed!

Apparently Maslow also noticed a positive trend (increasing numbers of actualized people).

Interesting to see this identified across disciplines, especially since it is despite the rosy retrospection bias.

I hope so! I truly hope and work towards that. My fear is that we equate technical advancement with evolution. Technology can aide in our evolution by providing wealth, but it can also aide our more primitive motives. We must press for love, compassion, and forgiveness.

I hear you. AI, nuclear weapons, and other potentiality weaponizable tech is certainly worrying.

Let me rephrase that. When verifying my twitter name and my posted twitter status; the two don’t compare correctly unless one or the others’ username is capitalized correctly. I think it could be fixed with a object.toLowercase() when comparing and verifying if both are correct.

Thanks for the heads up, I should provide a better validation for that. The check is actually done on a smart contract.

Sometimes it is hard knowing you have the technical ability to scream at the heavens through modern technology, yet still, no one is listening.

It is ironic. Many forces are competing fiercely for our collective attention, a zero sum game.

I hear you, though!

How’s that working? Been trying to find something so my posture can get better.

It's really good. Nice to stretch out on. I'm not sure if it'll actually help with posture but it feels like a healthy activity.

Back bends, as done in yoga, have been shown to lead to positive hormone and/or neurotransmitter release (fuzzy on the details). Stretching out on the ball may have a similar effect. It feels good at least.
