Haven't played Skryim for over a year... but I hear those chants ONCE and I want to go re-bootcamp my mac, set up Mod Organizer, make the next perfect playthrough... dive into another 80 hours...
Must... resist... 😅 https://open.spotify.com/track/2gaZJDgE71VL9PzzUUlpMg

Sleep well in your new flat! :)
Thanks @balresch, it's awesome. How are you?
Ok, I gotta break my social media holiday for this. @vikmeup congrats! Such great news! @trust is already awesome (in fact, I’m using it right now), but with this kind of backing you’ll be able to do even greater things.
Well done! 🎉
Much love, Peepeth community. Goodnight, sweet decentralised dreams...
And that’s my Tweepting concluded for the week. Btw, did we go thru a growth spike??
I’ll leave you with this Danish poster on my wall. The motto is “the last step before leaping takes the longest.”
If the diving board was shorter than we thought, we would jump minutes earlier.
I also started #Principles by @RayDalio. Introduction is great. Great book design and a pleasure to read already.
I also read #TheDip by Seth Godin - wonderfully short book - and a brilliant kick in the pants. Summed up, successful ppl and orgs quit things all the time. Quit what isn’t working for you, and persist & stick thru what will make you (or your org) the best in the world.
No pillowcase yet = use a t-shirt. No end table = convert an old barstool into a nonstick surfaced table. I might not sound Kiwi but I have the number 8 wire in me...
Highlights of my past week:
* Going to a business launchpad awards night & meeting the founders of one of my favorite restaurants, @bacon_brothers_co
* Building a mobile app (secret)
* #InfluenceEcology midyear conference, learning all about human exchange
* Moving to my new flat

I'm glad it's working out! I know what you mean. I used to have the FB app on my phone, and it definitely didn't add to my happiness or productivity.
I think I’ve accepted by this point that I like bright colours, shiny things, and pretty buttons. Feels good for about 10 mins, then slowly decreases in benefit.

Hmm, I thought you're already there :)
Yep - I just moved to a new flat :)
All set up with improvised door handles as hooks. Fairly small room but I like the limitation...

I love this. Happy peep day!
Haha thanks @Bevan!
Saturday/Sunday was a bit busy for me but I am enjoying catching back up... perhaps I’ll make a peeping exception to the rule. Definitely life’s better without the LinkedIn app to constantly scroll thru bored

Hmm, nice. I do want to cycle across Europe at some point, so I’ll make sure to include Romania :)

Yep I did! Here’s my (albiet messy) home sweet home:

We'll miss your posts, but it's a great idea. Enjoy your week! I was toying with the idea of turning Peepeth off one day per week. Not actually going to do it, but I like the concept of downtime as a feature :)
Wow, now that would be interesting... and that day could be used for all kinds of maintenance/data visualisation...

I like this idea too (although we'll miss you during the week!) I've found that turning off all notifications is nice for phone-only messenger apps.
Yeah, I’m sorry about my Peepstreak. But I want to make sure I’m contributing the best stuff I can, and limits feel like a good way of doing that. I’m already in a groove of posting to soc. media everyday, so now I’ll just compress and select only the best stuff.
And good rule.

Would you accept the 2nd place? :) Every day I was thinking that it's strange that I didn't have any flat on the trip, and then quickly scold myself for thinking about it, because Murphy. And in the end, I didn't really have any flats #acrossRomania :)
Did you go tubeless?

14/ One day per week may be too limiting, so I'll probably end up playing around later and trying out different days/times. However I am keen to see what/if there is an effect on my productivity, creativity, and lifestyle habits.
15/ I'm also bringing back Tech-Free Sundays... aka no phone/laptop at all. Perhaps also will experiment again with setting my phone to grayscale (less color = less interesting).
Well, it's time for me to head off to enjoy a quieter, more ignorant existence. See you on Saturday!

13/ I'll be using @forestapp_cc Chrome extension to sync w/ my phone. This doesn't block sites, but it incentivizes not going onto distracting (self-set) websites.

12/ Not to mention - when the barrier to telling people about myself/what I'm doing/what I'm interested in/etc. is higher, it turns out I listen more (=learn more), expose myself to new ideas, and connect better with others… (which is what I tell myself I get from soc. media)

11/ In reality, my friends are delighted when I ask about their lives personally, and more than willing to give me a separate update. I don’t miss out on much at all. (And I think I even feel less FOMO than before...)

10/ One thing that makes me laugh is that I had this fear while considering quitting social media back in 2017- that my friends would fall out of my life and be annoyed at me not seeing their updates. In hindsight I think I was more scared that no one would see *my* updates…

2/ I quit most of my social media back in 2017 and noticed a huge increase in productivity, focus, and infact stronger connections with a smaller amount of friends (due to getting everyone possible onto WhatsApp, which forced me into a 'pull' system of individual conversations)
1/ A recent podcast episode mentioning a no phone/email bet (https://bit.ly/2mE6mqp) + finally watching the Simon Sinek interview on Millenials (https://bit.ly/2iCFLY8) got me wondering if I've slipped back into social media saturation. Which I think, yes, I have.

Testing Peepeth (http://peepeth.com) for the first time! Lots of things I'm impressed by! * Good UI * "Opinionated features" * Charity stickers, going to the Against Malaria Foundation https://peepeth.com/malaria * Ability to peep and tweet at the same time
Good day(or good night) @vbuterin! Great to have you trying out this platform! And props for the mosquito badge :)

I’ve had some of the same books pass through my hands a few times.
Green eggs and ham for life. An empowering story of the Sam-I-Am in all of us pushing past rejection to explore the delights of something never tried before. Persistence, unflappability, thinking outside the box... best children’s story ever.

Cool. Have you read "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up"? One nugget from that book is to "throw away anything that doesn't give you joy". An interesting lens through which to view your possessions.
I haven’t read the book though, to clarify.

Yeah, nice rule. Certainly that applies to many of my more ambitious, thick books (feels like an obligation) and old journals covering some of the more negative periods of my life. Same goes for the clothes I never wear due to ill fits/not my style but were gifts, or sunk costs…

You are awesome @bevan 👏
Finished #OwnTheDayOwnYourLife. Excellent, actionable, funny. I like the last section: the importance of social support, accountability, and self forgiveness in making these habits stick. Thanks for one of the best life optimisation books I’ve read in years @aubreymarcus

It’s amazing how many books I’ve accumulated, 90% of which in the last 4 years. I’m leaving behind/donating over 20, many I found valuable and want to re-read. Yet it’s surprisingly exciting limiting myself to only the books I can realistically carry & read. #decutteredspace
All the ones I’m donating/giving away. Top 3 and bottom 2 are unread... tough decisions.
