I love it. Can I move there when I retire? The thing about #hemp is that it is so hardy, it grows everywhere. I'm glad to see humanity re embracing this ancient, enormously beneficial plant. It's about time. It could solve many problems.
It's not legal yet, but a trip to New Zealand (/retirement) is worth it anyway :)
And yes totally agree, I love finding that there are old, nature based solutions like it (& others e.g. essential oils) that end up being better than what we've come up with through modern science.

Amazing that these guys had to go out and form a manufacturing company to really understand the impact of the big players. Also amazing is that these huge mining companies (can) make more $$$ selling equipment than mining (if I read it right).
Yeah, that's Bitmain's business model if I recall correctly. "Test" new equipment for a few months, then sell to consumers once it's no longer making massive profit:energy consumption.
Still, gotta admire them for being so skilled, optimised, and refined. Nothing goes to waste.
Imagine a New Zealand that exports CBD oil & hemp yarn alongside manuka honey & merino.

#NZ could be the world leader in premium cannabis-based health products. Legalizing would improve lives much more than it'd harm them.

Yup. Or simply being able to explain to 'nontechnical' friends/family what crypto is and how they can use it - in events of gifts, inheritance, etc.

Biggest challenge I had practicing #cryptoUX over ~6 months is lack of analytics. Forget about usage metrics, A/B testing, events, funnels, click heat maps, session videos etc. Privacy is Queen. Direct contact w/ engaged community is a way to mitigate. Any other good practices?
Do you mean: as a designer, it's hard to build dapps because crypto users don't like ads, trackers, A/B testing, or referrers?
That's an interesting problem. In fact, just a few days ago I was wondering how a services like @SumoMe would work if catered to dapp users...

I have to counter that point. The process of decentralizing is extremely slow and expensive. There are strong benefits that make it worth it for some tasks, but centralized organizations are inherently much more efficient and cost-effective for many tasks.
Good point. Trust springs to mind: it's a lot cheaper & easier with small, close-knit groups. I don't think we'll ever make our systems fully decentralized, at least not with our current human psychological needs... though I could be wrong. We live in exciting times nevertheless!

I don't think centralized orgs will be able to compete with decentralized ones in the long run. The structure is expensive. In the meantime, decentralization needs to get better at easily keeping secrets, somehow restoring access to misplaced accounts, and general ease of use.
Good points. I'm excited to see how decentralization affects commerce, entrepreneurship, order, networks, impact etc...
I'm part of a project that can hopefully solve a part of those problems, particularly [restoring access to misplaced accounts]... see AfterPass.co :)

Every company that can, should be looking at decentralised ledgers. Disrupt yourself.
I'm not sure I entirely agree with that - centralization is useful for many things & I don't think every company needs blockchain/s. However if you meant that in a sense of "they shouldn't be willfully blind or ignorant to it's use, including in their company", then I agree 100%.

XMR would be cool. However, mobile app > everything.
You are well positioned to be first-in-category for many things & I reckon by going niche for as long as possible (people have plenty of other options for XMR/BTC storage, de/centralized exchange) you'll do well.

I've read that book many times. +1 for that chapter, too. As far as courses, I wouldn't say I have any favorites. Usually these are just to brush up on various tools. Would love to do less practical ones. How about you?
Haven't done a ton, either. Will be following one soon for DevOps, and currently studying React.

I've learned this lesson too. It's easy to go on shopping sprees and buy a bunch of books that I never read / listen to / are duds. I try to add to my Wish List, and come back when my queue is more empty. +1 for video courses; Udemy is great, but many free ones are good too.
What are your favourite video courses? (I promise, I won't go out and buy all of them ;)
Also regarding wish-list-ing, this chapter from "Anything You Want" by one of my all time favourite humans, Derek Sivers, comes to mind:
