... my justification for the accuracy being, a lot of new age, self-help, superstitious, or religious traditional stuff is based off someone's experience. The narrative isn't necessarily true but the conclusion or actions you take as a result produce positive results.

Like Napoleon Hill - "Think And Grow Rich". Are thoughts "plucked" out of the same "ether" that radiowaves go through? Are all of the people living in poverty there due to their thoughts & mindset? No and not necessarily. But the result is recognising the power of your thoughts.

Yeah. On the left-brainers struggling to get into books, there's other books in this genre I want to read more of but have a hard time getting into - particularly stuff like numerology, star signs, eastern medicine. Even if it's not 100% accurate there's still some insights (...)

A great book. Less an instructional manual for achieving presence and more an experience designed to get you there. Left brainers often struggle with it; took me a few tries to get into it.

I resisted reading The Power of Now for a long time because I thought it was woo woo, but it's actually legit good advice. I like his distinction on clock-time and reality: namely, there is no time, the only thing that matters is how deep you are in the present, not the 'horizon'

And if that doesn't make sense, it can get even simpler:

- You can't be sure that the past is real
- You can't be sure that the future is real either
- Really, the only thing that ever exists is now
- 'Living' in either the past or future is the source of all pain

Wonderfully inspiring if you entertain the idea. You are who you are, right where you are, for a reason - you chose to be. And if you get chewed up on what you're meant to do, it's a perfect solution - you're meant to live the dream.

Thanks. I've spent 2 years weighing it up. Used to have a pretty compulsive habit of IG and it's similar apps (Facebook, Snapchat) so I definitely know the bad effects. Yet there's costs to being off the platform.

If I had to summarise in 3 points, quitting social media is...
β€’ trading your potential friends for your current friends
β€’ trading a 'push system' for a 'pull system' where you have to now initiate what feels like 80% of conversations
β€’ trading public image for productivity

I've spent a lot of time hating it, but now I've changed my mind and am considering rejoining. Most important thing to me is that there's many social platforms and that I avoid tying my ego to one particular place. Also prioritising real life relationships over online ones.

I reckon there's a big difference between using IG for close friendships (= cheapens them, puts you on a validation/comparison-trip) & for public statements (= builds your identity/career, similar to Twitter/LinkedIn)

If being public isn't in your aims, then yeah, quit.

Very nice analogy, indeed! CSS itself barely gets upgraded, but you can add an infinite amount of compilers-languages-libraries etc on top. That's precisely one of the reasons why I'm getting excited about projects like Cosmos and Polkadot. :)

If anyones looking for a vision of how Bitcoin has the potential to be the backbone for the new financial system, take a look at CSS. A base protocol/shared language - that is resulting in the visual appearance of every website and web app you visit. Sidechains =~= CSS compliers

Here's an example of something called "SCSS", a 'second layer' to the base CSS language that means you can write very little and achieve a lot. https://css-tricks.com/custom-user-mixins/

I'm pretty sure this can be made at some point - @Bevan's intent is to make the smart contract entirely accessible as far as I know, and the Peepeth backend can already be read on multiple platforms.
