Looks brilliant! Would love to visit Turkey - I'll be sure to visit shortly before/after I go to Georgia again.

#bnee :) How does Palermo compare to your other recent cities?
Generally nice weather, apparently one of the best times of year to visit. And I like my apartment - similar to Georgia, I don't need a coworking office because it's actually spacious enough to build out an workspace in my own room.

Hahaha. Palermo is good. It's most similar to Tbilisi (Georgia) in terms of the architecture, weather, and general vibes. There's also a fair bit of litter/graffiti/plastic like Tbilisi. Less poverty, though still lower income (and significantly cheaper costs) than north Europe.

Oh? It sounds like the SEC gave up on being the Crypto Police and suddenly remembered it is meant to be a regulator... That's sound news though. If you have a link on this topic, please share here! :)

How can you (truly) push for privacy with a closed source product? Who can ever know for sure what data is being saved for later, when a backdoor is rolled into an update, etc etc... I applaud the message, but can't trust it.
I'm more likely to believe Apple than I am Google, for the simple fact that they make money with pretty hardware and Google make money with ads & datamining.

I'm a real big fan of the concept that "negative" actions/emotions, if harnessed well, can help a good person be more effective. Why else would our world have evolved to have us able to lie, hurt, and threaten each other? There's clearly a value to deceit/aggression.

Paraphrasing: a good politician isn't one who's solely friendly, kind, honest... it's an effective one (who sometimes employs underhand methods) who helps people at large.

When purchasing, my bottomline is: "Will I be getting a product that meets my expectations?" Scammers don't even offer any product in the first place, which is why they go overboard in trying to seem legitimate (i.e compliance this/that). Average companies just want to sell.
Yep. Though I do believe in the long-term if you aren't playing the rules of the game you'll fail.
By the way, speaking of scams, did you hear the SEC filed it's first no-action letter for a crypto token sale? Effectively paving the way for legal crypto co's.

The scammy companies don't comply. Only the ones trying to not be scammy try to comply. And then, do you go check the business registration certificate when you make a purchase? Neither does anyone else...

This sounds similar to... anything at a large organization. Try getting medical care without being asked much more... or try registering a cellphone or reloadable debit card. Or building a house or renting a room. The 21st century expects you to have and surrender lots of data.
Yep, and it's not just data - that's places I don't live nor work at, and my time/focus (the urgent-yet-public email)

Can you use a "registered agent" service to fulfill the physical address portion? It's pretty affordable in the US, for an LLC at least (I think I paid $100/year).
That, or a good friend... lol.

Incorporating a company in #NewZealand is not designed for the 21st century. You have to give: • a residential address, • an office address, • and a contact email for "urgent matters" All of this data is then publicly published. You effectively have to lie to complete it.
Regarding the email, maybe I'm overreacting. Even if the NZ government can't add an "NZ-Government:True" header to the email, it's well known that spammers always add a "Spamming:True" header to their emails. I can just filter by that.

Oh yeah, that "office address" is expected to have a physical shareholder register.
We've really only just seen the tip of the iceberg for crypto disruption… Imagine if governments trusted a PGP signed doc, or even tokenised equity. Much better than (forgeable) pen-and-paper!

Like someone said earlier, you pick and choose your bias. But you also reevaluate them *constantly*. Doesn't mean it has to be in depth but a quick. What are my assumption in this conversation? Am I automatically invalidating someone? Do I care?
Yeah maybe the goal is to stay aware of your bias and keep trying to mix it up and see it it works better for you

And back to @Bevan's original quote, I want to know - how do you choose what information is useful to let in to your own life? How do you prevent being affected by this new kind of censorship on a personal basis?

Here's a really cool video on how important biases are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFzDaBzBlL0 One of the new takeaways I've taken on subsequent rewatches is that your perception is pliable - yet you're limited to only one dominant form of perception (or bias) at a time.

Agree. As for solutions... I'm a fan of the concept of a "low information diet". Choose what occupies your attention like your food. Choose ahead of time what you want your biases & distractions to be, what you want to read, *especially* when you're inactive/on "autopilot"

If you're looking towards Singapore, I'll get my company secretary friend to contact you from SG. And if you're looking towards Estonia, I recommend you get into the E-Residency program. E-Residency page lists many service providers for company secretary, audit, tax.
I've heard good things about E-residency. It's a bit expensive but totally forward thinking and I'm sure the tax benefit would more than make up for it long term.
