First I’ve heard of it. I’ll check it out, James! :)
Welcome back @Sparrow, how’d your certification go?
I'm a fan of #Textile (https://textile.photos) but I gotta say, Pixelfed.social is doing some great stuff too - take a look at that slick UI!
I don't know who Erik Trautman is, but 5 years ago he made a SoundCloud playlist called "Coding/Working Beats" and I'd like to agree & compliment his taste.

Too bad. I had always wanted to visit... this will just cause the "boogey men" to have all of their insedious/dangerous/important secrets in encrypted clouds. Envasion of privacy without any actualizable benefits, imho. Unless they block the internet, too...
and speaking of blocking the 'net, predictions:
• Crypto exchanges will all get required KYC < 5 yrs
• Decentralised exchanges without KYC get cracked down on til the only ones left are anon < 5 yrs
• XMR & other cryptonights will get banned from regulated exchanges < 10 yrs

Agree. It'll just make it more seductive. And it'll create a low-key "hazing" effect, where you know you've done something illegal by viewing it so you feel more connected to the group sharing it.
And if you somehow avoid the group - stumble across it - you can't read critiques.

This is the greatest time to be alive in my opinion.
Haha, I was exaggerating - yes, the world has objectively got better in a ton of ways since the 60's. Doesn't make me think their music, style, & culture was any less cool, though.
and @CallMeGwei you get what you pay for... can still get a 1960s like experience in first class

Great idea! I host my very outdated plan.txt on ok keybase. I should give that a go sometime. Is now different to the notion of the fingerd plan?
It's different - just an update on my life. What you'd say to someone if you hadn't seen them in a while and they asked how you were. I wish more of my friends did it.

Very disappointed to hear that the Christchurch shooter's manifesto has been classed as objectionable by the New Zealand government.

Precisely.
Will do!
oh yeah, keep it quiet guys: https://app.txbatch.com beta now live (and free), 80% of the top 100 cryptos, significantly more secure (https-only, anon searches), faster (up to 150x in some cases), and more powerful (try out 'export')

Interesting perspectives. It seems to me that leaders don't sacrifice anything at all. Instead, they leverage their lifetime wisdom to prop the newcomers others up. It's a mutually beneficial partnership, I would say. :)
Maybe a better word is exchange... but I think sacrifice is the right one. The best leaders I've admired have always set themselves aside for the good of the group.

Beware the rubber hose attack (or worse, a drill). #PSA I have only a tiny amount of crypto, not worth a rubber hose.
I have more crypto than fiat, but that's not saying much lol...

As horrifying as this crime is, it's an important indication that crypto is becoming more valuable to the general public. There have always been violent thefts of valuables. But now we can trace them.

So Fred Dodson wrote about this in his book "Levels of Energy" -- basically supporting what you say about lower levels of energy equating to depressing behavior. (His definition of energy being more like "spiritual energy" / capacity to do good things with your life.)
Interesting - would you recommend it? I love books about this kind of thing

After seeing this thread I checked out leading up the chain and found a solid article, great stuff. Anyone interested in culture, leadership and organizations, check it out https://real-leaders.com/the-leadership-chain/
I love studying leadership. 2 thoughts I have:
1. "Wisdom is earned by a lifetime of listening when you would rather talk" (heard it from Finding My Virginity by Richard Branson)
2. Real leaders sacrifice what they could be so that those they lead can achieve their potential...
Came across this while reading my emails... during pre-scheduled time for reading emails... and now I'm scheduling some time to watch it later, after I spend the next 3 hours working on txBatch - does this mean I'm following his advice? Hopefully!

There's a reinforcing feedback loop too - alcohol is a depressant and makes you more susceptible to other depressing stuff like smoking, staying in bed all day using Facebook/Instagram, injuries, not taking care of yourself
So IMO the best way to quit alcohol/smoking/social media/any other types of addiction, is getting something that excites you. Even if it's some random goal like shooting a gun into a volcano or skiing in Japan, simply being able to focus on a goal is exciting & makes it easier.

One thing I've noticed about alcohol, and many forms of addiction - it's a substitute for living life to the fullest. The most alcoholic countries are the ones where nothing's really going on. All the alcoholics I know are depressed, unfulfilled, trapped in their minds.
